Can we have the old Last Whisper back, because this one is garbage?

It used to be the case that you couldn't really scratch Malphite, Cho and maybe a couple other champions who tended to build mostly armor. This fucking season, you can't scratch anyone who has goddamn armor runes. If they buy Randuins, forget about it, you may as well be hitting them in fountain because their health is never going to drop.

Certainly feels that way, though as not to be a salty scrub I'm going to math out the new LW upgrades vs. the past-seasons LW and see at what level of armor the new ones are actually better. BRBs.

All right, did the maths.

45% vs. bonus gets better than 35% total vs. 25, 50, 75, and 90 base armor at 123, 225, 338, and 405 armor, respectivly. Which is pretty awful.

However: the +15% physical damage vs. targets with 500+ more HP than you shifts the damage pretty substantially. Taking the *1.15 multiplyer that offers, vs. a +500 Hp target with a base 25, 50, 75, and 90 armor you do more damage than last-seasons LW vs. 0, 38, 95, and 130 armor on your target via item 3036.

item 3036 is a better anti-tank item than Last Whisper considering it's better vs. opponents that have 0+, 0+, 20+, and 40+ bonus armor (where all rune, mastery, ability, and item armor is considered bonus armor). So anyone who purchases an item like item 3143 is going to get hit harder by Regards than they ever would have by last-seasons LW, seeing as Omen provides more than 40 armor and should give a 500 HP advantage.

Issue with item 3036 item 3033 is more they're completely useless vs. targets with negligible bonus armor and HP in their builds, preventing AD assassins from using armor penetrations as a solid secondary multiplier for their QWER burst vs. a squishy. In past seasons you could get ~55%+30 flat to get pretty close to a 50%+50 armor-pen multiplier, where 50%+50 is exactly what you need to double your physical damage output (assuming your foe has at least 100 armor as they need 50% damage reduction to double DPS via armor pen). As 75 is a pretty standard base armor @18 (Sona actually reaches that), 55%+30 made armor pen to assassins as crit was to marksman.

Kind of irnoic that's no longer the case with all these Q_Q threads about item 3147 and AD assassins being totes OP, when their armor pen itemization took a massive dive for the worst in making their OHKO combos reach OHKO status.

TLDR: item 3036 is a better anti-tank item than LW was past seasons due in large part to the Giant Slayer portion.
