Should Riot remove surrender button?

So, I just played a game and we were ahead when we had 2 bad teamfight. Only 2 kills differential and not a significant gold lead for any team. All of sudden, my whole team decided to surrender, because of the 2 last teamfight.

I played other MOBA where there is NO surrender option, and I could see the difference. People aren't giving up ( beacause they simply can't ) and if they are, they are getting reported and granted a warning or ban ( if it happens often ).

Well, I only want people opinion about it. Do you think the game would be better without a surrender option?

You ever been stomped in a game of dota2? I don't mean "we made some bad calls" stomped, I mean every single person on the enemy team is miles better than the best person on your team.

If you're unlucky, and the opponents are dicks, they'll just farm kills.

For. An. Hour.

An hour of knowing damn well that you can't win, and that if you leave, you'll get stuck in low priority.

Surrender stays.

No way. The surrender option is viable and until Riot has a way to combat dc's, rage quits, and afks like other Mobas do, (Dota allowing ppl to leave game without penalty), surrendering is the best option.

lulz... people like you have no clue about game design, so please stop.

If anything, we should be able to surrender at the start of the game.

Not being able to surrender would only increase toxicity and at the end of the day it would still be useless. Why? Because people still can choose not to play and group.

In normal mode, surrender should be an option, but not until 30 minutes. People need to learn to play with adversity.

In ranked, surrender should be removed. The surrender option increases the number of games a bad player can influence. Removing surrender from ranked would likely discourage unskilled players from participating in ranked games since they would have to finish the game.

Also being reported for being an unskilled player needs to return to ranked games to balance this out. Change the system so that an unskilled player can get banned from ranked games only but still play unranked games. (It's the only way they'll improve.) 1st ban must win 5 unranked games in Summoner's Rift 2nd ban must win 8 unranked games in Summoner's Rift 3rd+ ban must win 10 unranked games in Summoner's Rift

They actually need other surrender conditions imo: If either 20 minute, Gold difference, Level difference, 1 player left for too long, and an inhibitor was destroyed is fulfilled you may surrender(Allowing surrenders for reasonable reasons)

Although after this if they were to add those other surrender conditions, I feel that the 20 minute one would not be needed anymore :O

But after reading this I'm really wondering how the game would be with more surrender options but the time requirement removed.

I wish they would remove the surrender option.

The only times I've seen it used was when we still stood a chance of winning or when the enemy was already bringing down our nexus anyway so it didn't even save time.

EDIT: I forgot, I've also seen troll surrenders when you are beating down on the enemy nexus and suddenly someone on your team wants to surrender.

Say you're in a 5v5 and the game is obviously one sided because the other team is fed. I'm not going to waste any more time playing it when we're getting slaughtered and there's no hope. That game ending you experienced is pretty uncommon.... there must have been a reason behind it or the players just did not want to play anymore.

And for the games where there's someone AFK or feeding.... you can figure that out.

Sure but allow people to leave without penalty after 20minutes. Sorry but not everyone has that "nuvuuruuu surrendurrr" mentality. Its a game and if theres no enjoyment because you're getting stomped and your team agrees to surrender I dont see the problem with it.
