More than one recommended tree
Hi, I'm bloojae. This is my first post onto the forums. I'm a casual league player who only occasionally plays ranked, but I just thought of something that could be interesting if implemented.
I'm one of those people that uses the recommended items list quite often. I've grown to not use it as much, but I've realized that I'll want to go a certain way in building the champion, but I'm still new enough to where I don't know what to build. Yes I know that I can just go to the internet and see what they think, but it does take time ahead of the game to plan out. This is mostly a problem for me with the whole primary and secondary roles. Mostly for supports. When there is a primary support, but you want to play them as a mage, you still get the support recommended items. I have no idea yet what the best all around items are for playing that champion like a mage. This isn't a big problem, but when I was new to the game, I figured out that recommended items are great and it was pretty easy to still do well. I have experimented with many different builds on champions, but when there are two or maybe more ways of playing a champion that you are telling me about, I want to know how I can try those ways.
This doesn't just apply to the different roles way. You can build AD on any champ and it won't be absolutely terrible. But also when I have different matchups. Like when I'm up against Zed and I'm playing a mage then I need to know to rush zhonya's. I know it would be very difficult to do these kinds of matchups. That is something I should learn ahead of time. But maybe just more items in the offense and defense tree as situational options. I think that adding more recommended items would help beginners trying new roles on champions, as well as more experienced players learn matchups.
Let me know what you think about this! :)
