So im trying to understand how this works. I finished last season as a gold V and stayed there through the pre season. Now I play my 10 "placement" games and win 6 out of the 10. Now with a winning record playing against other people who are ranked gold, the system kicks me back to silver 4. How does that make any sense riot. You should not get dropped from your rank with a winning record Riot. Makes 0 sense
Simply put you can't ever drop out of gold V so you could have been playing at a s4 level and still be in gold V. That's why if you look at last years spread of champions in each rank there is a huge spike in the V's down the list. Also, the Promo games are just 10 games so it is very likely that you could be placed slightly below or above your skill level. The system takes into account in game performance and the difficulty of the opponents faced so you could have won 6 games against Bronze elo's but lost against silver elo's.
