This really gimps his itemization and Keystone choices (
Deathfire) , and has been a problem for about two years (Ever since the rework). Any plans to fix this?

It's probably not AOE but concussive --> DoT and is thus handled the same way like AOE.
It doesnt affect the gunblade since it's the same from all damage sources
And I would assume because you can smack 3 different targets with it with one cast of the spell, that's the only thing I can really assume
Presumably because they don't want him to be healing all his health with one cast of Q.

Tbh? Probably leftover categorization from before his rework. It used to be an AoE spell.
