It's based on queue time rather than rank. Not a lot of people do normal drafts pre-30, so that's probably the reason.

Yeah, autofill is for all elo's, and is just based on estimated queue times. Particularly high elo (and particularly low elo) is known for long queue times so it primarily effects them, but at certain times of day other elos can face that sort of thing too.

Yeah pre-30 matchmaking can be a similar situation. Pre-30 players are frequently scared of pvp so don't queue for it (instead doing lots of bots), and the ones that do tend to be smurfs so get really high mmrs making it hard to find more 'normal' mmr'd people to match you with. (Or you might be in the relatively high mmr boat yourself, didn't bother to look up.)

Ohhh okay that makes more sense thank you. I've started to play more bots because it would always take me over 10-15 minutes to find a game even in blind pick (not sure if that makes a difference though)
