Mana regen discussion
What are everyone's thoughts on rito's mana regen removal changes? Id like to hear from everyone but also if you play mid lane especially what are your opinions.

I dunno. I know they're not the best but I bought all the mana regeneration runes since I have too much IP and an IP sink really doesn't exist.
Edit: Especially since they're throwing CDR on everything and you take CDR/level blues a lot so why not mana regen/level blues
bump
It's going to make the game even more stale than before; with the vast majority of mages being unable to function without any reliable mana regeneration when physical champions can bully them constantly without meaningful costs.
The way I see it, Riot has a grudge against mana regen. (and rightfully so) With the main offenders being siege mages who can wave clear from a safe distance. Mana should be a limiter for all champions who use it. The fact that stacking lots of regen means that siege mages, will never run out of mana, and leave their wave clear unchalanged.
This is probably why Mana regen isn't going to be paired with high AP anymore. if people really need coupious amounts of mana for spell slinging, they should give up some of their raw power to do so.
While the offensive item is being pushed for the build of maximum mana. And I can see why Riot thinks this would be the healthier option. If mages effectively had a mana battery, they would be able to spell spam, but only for a limited period of time. This would give windows of weakness to a class of champ who would otherwise wave clear indefinitely, and it encourages them to be more conservative with their mana.
besides, Riot may have kept mages in such a crappy state because they thought regen was unhealthy. We haven't actually seen the mages themselves in this update, and they may have been specked to be better with the maximum mana builds.
Last thing I'll note, one of the main fights I've seen with Regen was the ("Mages are the only class who have to recall Late game.") comparing it to the sustain that ADC's have with Life steal, and Tanks have with Wormarg's. Yet the thing I noticed with that is that both forms of sustain are gated. For an ADC you have to be attacking, which means putting yourself at risk. While for the tank, it's the opposite, where the sustain happens out of combat.
Should mage's have that mana sustain late game? well, maybe, but it should be gated in a similar manor. Let's say, something similar to Wormarg's. And item that requires a mana pool of 3K, activates a passive 5% mana regen each second, after being 8 seconds out of combat. This would be a healthier alternative to the flat mana sustain. It would allow mages to refuel their mana batteries, while at the same time, not being able to perform the infinite wave clear.
For those that care to comment whats your opinion on riots love for assassins and hate for poke mages
