I hate the new Galio.... and I own three skins for Galio.

I loved Hextech Galio because he looked like a gargoyle version of C3PO from Star Wars.

I loved Enchanted Galio because he was a sleek pretty blue version of Galio NOT Runeborn Xerath which is exactly what this skin looks like now.

I liked Commando Galio because he was wearing sunglasses and he was the "funny" Galio skin. I did get him in a mystery chest, I believe but I was still happy to have him.

Now Question Number One: WHERE IS MY REFUND RIOT? I wouldn't buy two to three skins for a champion if I didn't like the way they looked!!! And as for the audience possibly reading this post, you cannot tell me if one of the champions you have three or ALL of the skins for got a COMPLETE makeover that made all your skins look trashy to you, you would not want some type of compensation.

Now onto the kit. Why was his ult changed? He is no longer a stand-alone champion. I used to be able to flash ult and then while my team is dealing damage, when my ult stops channeling I unleash ERASE damage to squishies and a TON of damage to others.

I MEAN IF YOU CHANGE A CHAMPION THIS MUCH THEN JUST PUT THIS KIT IN A DIFFERENT CHAMPION. WTH.

I am raging so hard. For my money. For my love of the old Galio. THERE ISN'T EVEN SOME SORT OF OPTION TO CHANGE HIS LOOK. Why not have a classic Galio skin for this new disgusting monstrosity? At least he would be prettier even though you've RUINED his look for some of my PAID IN FULL for skins.

I paid money. For a product. How can you change the product to something completely different and NOT call that stealing?! Riot Thieves.

Did he need a rework? Yes. Did you need to completely change his kit? NO. THIEVES. His passive needed tuning or something extra because there just isnt enough Magic Resist in the game.

When I first read of the changes I heard they were making him bigger. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. IF HE DIDN'T LOOK LIKE A BIG UGLY TOOL.

You went TOO far Riot devs. YOU COULD HAVE GAVE HIM SMALL BUFFS EVERY PATCH LIKE YOU'VE DONE TO OTHER CHAMPIONS TO MAKE HIM RELEVANT WITHOUT CHANGING WHO HE IS.

This is no longer Galio. It's a decent enough champion who sees good enough play.

But Galio is dead. He is dead. Gone. Forever apparently.

I still play league and I still will, but not without another part of my heart ripped to shreds. You could have just stuck that kit into a different champion... instead you've killed one of your own.

Just because you spent money on RP for a skin forever ago doesn't make the skin yours. You spent money on in-game points to unlock a cosmetic on your account. It does not belong to you.

In defense of the OP, one of the biggest things here is that Galio went from a mage-tank with a wombo CC (that could clear a team before it ends with the right coordination) to more of an AP Bruiser on the lines of Sejuani.

I mean, Galio's basically just less-risk-more-reward Shen. Without the retarded gawky sword mechanic, Galio just generally boasts better coverage. About the only area Shen's got an (arguably) objective advantage is in his being Energy-based, where his rotations are less likely to leave him bust in the lane. That said, Galio enjoys fantastic synergy with pretty much every item that awards straight mana, barring perhaps Tear.

I know this is 'like Sion,' but it's not... Sion had a horrifically dysfunctional design that, sure, could have worked with numbers tweaking. But Sion was very clearly not a serious attempt at making something that leaves an impression, or is unique in the least. With skills that were more or less 'melee Annie with a shield,' an ult that more or less suggested he build AP instead of AD (despite the giant axe) and an identity that was horribly confused in general.

Galio had an awkward playstyle, but not one that was fundamentally broken by nature; the difference is that Sion wasn't healthy and had options he should not have, while Galio was more in the niche where his options were limited, but effective (he was premier anti-AP, eat your own ass LeBlanc and Katarina) which just led to a niche rather than being broken.

Galio kept some things in his old kit. But his entire fight changed from being far back and engaging to create favour, up to being an engager with poke.

Fuck, OP, I agree with you so hard. But the guy who was behind Galio was so insanely proud of himself.

This is the new League. They want high schoolers with the attention span of insects, whose humour generally amounts to ruining a game (read: autolock). They're not interested in developing as a game. They want to break bank and split while the splitting's good.

We're just along for the ride.

No offence.. But there was no way Galio's kit was going to stay similar to his old, it had nothing in it and he was verging on a terrible pick on summoners rift. He needed the rework as well due to how outdated he was.

It does suck having a champ ur attached to chang big time though, but give the rework a go, its actually really quite fun, I play him quite a bit now and have a great time :p

Nugalio plays pretty good but its not Galio. I also hate how fucking smug he looks with that barney grin. Barney with wings. I mean, the kit is cool...but the skin is gawd awful. Giant colossal white statue with some gold? From...an actual gargoyle? A gargoyle guards a building...not an entire CITY or army ffs.

The galio update would've been really cool if they gave him the new Q and some kind of synergy with towers (like allowing him to shield them...take that away from Janna...she doesn't need it and it overloads her kit anyways).

Nugalio has a cool kit but man....they really did do a champ swap here....call the big ugly statue something else and give us galio back. Give galio the new Q and nugalio a different Q. Really not that hard rito.

No kidding. Its disgusting the direction this game is going....faster games...shorter /ff times...the snowballing...the wet toilet paper towers...now they got to ARAM and ruined that even....summoner 3

Many believe there is no going back since the new Galio is out. But I think it would show a LOT for the company(who've lost a lot of older players faith) to release old Galio and "new name for other statue" next patch with a promise to rework old Galio in Season 8.

I DO NOT ACTUALLY EXPECT A REFUND. I'm just saying how messed up it is ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THIS CHANGE that I AM actually a person who spend money.

  1. Every TSA after the first TSA is FORCED if I ever want to play any part of the game ever again. So the legality of those forced TSAs as binding agreements are EASILY ruled against by any judge (if anyone ever had the money to take things like this to court, which I dont and even if I did I wouldn't but that doesn't mean it is not POSSIBLE). This is true for ANY game. Think about it. So many patches you wish you could go back to. Everyone has at least one. But you would have no one to play with. But lets say you had a choice between patching and not patching, then everyone would choose different patches to stay on and you would have people to play with but I don't know what kind of drain it would have on the servers and blahblahblah.

It doesn't change the fact that if I ever want to play League of Legends again I have to accept the new TSA.

2)This is NOT like a ride at a theme park. A theme park takes up ACTUAL REAL ACRES OF LAND ON THE EARTH. THE. EARTH. Galio does not take up space. Riot has NO issues releasing new champions and rather than CHANGE a VERY old champion's ENTIRE LOOK AND KIT, they could have made a new champion.

  1. I didn't spend a lot of time saying this, but YES the new Galio is fun to play. And good. He is good. BUT he is NOT Galio. Galio is still dead. And rather than put a new champion into play, they decided to brutally and ruthlessly murder Galio and make all his skins look stupid.

  2. They COULD have TUNED UP Galio without changing his kit too too much. The same cannot be said about appearances. They did not have to change his look AT ALL. That was just excessive serial killer style murder of the originial Galio.

For example: his passive changed Magic Resist into Ability Power. They could have changed the scaling of his passive.

He had a speed up in a straight line and if he or other champions went into that they got the speed boost. They could have made it a wide short cone so that they could all run fast into a teamfight.

His ultimate is one of the biggest disappointments. I LOVE HIS ULTIMATE. However since there is only so much MR in the game they could have tuned his scaling with both AP and MR so that late-mid and late game his ultimate just ERASES people. Especially when channeled for the full amount (because that means he is taking damage for the full amount and since he almost exclusively builds MR if he taunts a bunch of AD champions he would have to interrupt his ult in order to not die by the end of it).

They gave NEW Galio this MR shield? So since there isn't enough MR in the game and that was one of Galio's problems shouldn't they just add the MR shield to his old passive and keep his kit generally the same. AND MAKE HIM BIG. LIKE A GARGOYLE. But NOT change the way he looked. These are just a few ideas.

I have another question: is the originial developer of Galio still at Riot? Or did they die? I mean Galio HAS to have been SOME Rioters baby. Where are they and what do they say about this?

You can downvote me all you want. It doesn't change that I am correct and I am not alone. It is all opinion for the most part, but I don't think ANYONE could disagree that Riot COULD have just made a new champion with this new Galio's kit. You also can't disagree that they didn't even TRY to make him relevant in the current meta while still keeping him similar to his old self. Do you remember a patch where he had any SLIGHT tune-ups? I don't.

I'm about to go for a hunt through the patch notes for the past 7 seasons. I'll brb.

A post full of complaints about what a company does with their property. Idk where y'all get off. It just seems like people don't like change. Get used to it. Nothing about this game is the same as it once was. Don't like it, go find a new free game to complain about. Some people are just never satisfied.

Old galio was boring af, but he had a charm that the new one doesnt.

I think they could've done better with his rework.
