Can anyone help with some questions

Hey guys, just a normal player here, hit gold this season first time in all my time playing league. Now I'm jumping from gold 3 to 4 to 5 to 4 and so on... Anyways I'm looking to improve in League, and I would like to ask a few questions to see if you can help me out with them. Most of these are pretty small and maybe sound insignificant but I think small things impact my gameplay a bit.

When should I wait for enough gold to buy any item? Sometimes or should I say most of the time, I back and I'm running short for about 100-50 gold from an item. Thing is that I feel like waiting for 50 gold is wasting my time, but at the same time I feel like a second back for the item would mean that the amount of time wasted is equal, so. I'd like to know when is it effective to wait for gold.

Is using flash for a kill really worth it every time? I do this a lot, but recently I saw some professional stream or vid I don't remember, but they said "It's not worth the flash" or something along the lines, so I'm unsure.

How do I effectively ward mid? I find it extremely hard to properly ward mid lane because the enemy jungler has so many paths to take.

Kindred's camps Is it more effective to kill her camps or try to flank her while she's going to take them?

When should I use my first ward (excluding if my jungler asks me to use it in his blue/red)? Actually this one sounds really stupid but it is the most troublesome for me. Sometimes I use it instantly (mid/jg) and sometimes I hold it till when I push my lane (top/bot) but I doubt this is how to properly use them.

When is it effective to get a second starting item? I've seen this before, rarely but I've seen it happening. When is it better to get one extra dorans ring/blade?

Is Ancient Coin a good item for other roles other than support? Ancient coin gives increased gold income, speed and it’s mana and gold drop passive. Why isn’t this item picked mid or top? Wouldn’t it be really cost effective and help the player when ganking other lanes or pushing other towers while teamates waveclear?

Thanks in advance guys. [sg-ahri-2]

First and foremost, please be advised that I am Silver 5. I'm not the best League player in the world. But I do main midlane/ADC, and I've been fast climbing all season - aiming for Gold this season.

When should I wait for enough gold to buy any item?

This one is a bit of a "feel the situation." I main Lux, for example. I know item 3802 is 1300G. If I'm doing well in lane, I will usually wait until I have 1350~1400 to back, so I can grab Lost Chapter and 2 potions. If I'm doing extremely well, I usually won't back until I have enough for Lost Chapter, boots, and one potion. If I'm only barely sustaining, I will wait until I have enough for Amplifying Tome, Control Ward, 2-3 potions, and, if I'm lucky, Sapphire Crystal. So around.. ~960.

{quoted} Is using flash for a kill really worth it every time?

This one is also a "feel the situation." If I'm going to get First Blood, I'll flash if my health is high enough for me to back out of a gank after the kill. I usually flash for the kill if I'm ahead. My biggest indication of never flashing for a kill is when I haven't seen the jungler in mid lane for a bit, he has good gank and lockdown potential, he is ahead, or if I'm low on vision. Or if the enemy bot lane is close to getting first tower, missing, or ahead. I keep my flash and take advantage of being alone in mid.

{quoted} How do I effectively ward mid?

I Control Ward the bush in dragon river and use one of my Totem Wards in the baron riverside bush and the other in one of the enemies' camps (usually Raptor's or between Blue and Gromp). If I can't extend that far safely, I place the other in whatever bush facing whichever lane has the biggest enemy gank potential. (i.e. Bot lane is extended and pushing hard.)

{quoted} Kindred's camps

I put a ward in whatever location is easily accessible. (i.e. Pop a ward in the middle of Baron/dragon river or on Raptor's). After that, I usually let the jungler make that call, or, if I'm strong enough/able to do so without being caught out by midlaner, try to flank while she's taking them.

Otherwise, if I see her bot lane, my midlaner just died or just backed? I'll take her camps. Usually, though, I let my jungler decide if they're going to take the camps.

{quoted} When should I use my first ward?

I always pop my first one on opposite camps, pop it on the camp I think they're least likely to go for first, or I'll place it on the entrance to river on either side (Raptor's entrance or Blue buff entrance), so that my jungler can decide if they're going to grab skuttle. I usually pop it at 1:20.

When is it effective to get a second starting item?

I've only done this myself twice. First time, I could tell the enemy mid laner was going to let me abuse them, so I got Doran's and Dark Seal. Second time, I was not sustaining well in lane, but I only brought back 500g before I had to back. So I grabbed an extra Doran's Ring and a potion for extra sustain and mana regen, considering how frequently I had to use my shield.

{quoted} Is Ancient Coin a good item for other roles other than support?

I'd be willing to try it in a game for you, myself, but I've never bothered to use it because I like to focus on poke. The drop locations aren't always the most convenient, and if you could only come out short on a trade, it may not be worth it to have to reach out for the mana/gold drop.

Take it for a grain of salt. Like I said, I'm not the best player, but I've maintained at 57% W/R for awhile and almost 70% W/R on Lux. [sg-kiko]

When should I wait for enough gold to buy any item? This is where I feel like that 1 or 2 missed CS would have mattered. I always just figure out what I want to buy before I go back. If its a super key power spike item like triforce then I'd make sure I have enough gold to get it before going back. If it's something more minor like some component I'll just get another component plus a pink or something

Is using flash for a kill really worth it every time? Depends what you can do after you get the kill. If you're both super low and it's even a risk to finish your wave or properly push your wave to reset then maybe not. You could just die to a finishing gank. If you can get another objective or definitely help another lane after, then sure go for it, especially since killing the enemy laner means they can't just safe farm if you do go help another lane. A lot of times if you dont kill them you have to make sure they go back (or risk dying) so they lose out in CS and exp so the next time you face off you'd already be up

How do I effectively ward mid? True with many paths, especially with those champs who can skip terrain. Usually the best way would be to get deep wards on the enemy camps so you can see where the jungler is. If you know hes top or bot that helps significantly so you know which side you can lean on for positioning even if you dont know if he'll gank. Warding the river bush is usually the worst place, gives false sense of security if you see nothing. If you dont have time to get a deep ward in then putting one at the entrance of their jungle will cover your river and his jungle path

When should I use my first ward (excluding if my jungler asks me to use it in his blue/red)? If youre blue side, usually around 2:30-2:40 at their raptors or top middle river entrance. Will let your jungler know if the other jungler is going for scuttle and also know which side they're doing their 2nd half of their first clear. Raptors is especially helpful if you know they're a jungler that goes low on HP so you can go gank them like if you're Talon mid vs Olaf jg, free kill right there when you'd be level 3 while theyre still 2

Kindred's camps Kill them. She doesnt know if the camp is gone until she goes to look at it. Wastes her time to go see

When is it effective to get a second starting item? Depends on the champ, but usually if you're slightly behind and nothing else to buy. It has good value when you get it, but delays your core item builds. However, if you have to get something like a ruby/mana crystal vs a dorans and you're behind, the crystal usually wont help you out to come back from a slight deficit when you need more efficient trades.

Is Ancient Coin a good item for other roles other than support? Never worth. You only get drops if the minion is killed by an ally. Mid/top you're solo lane so it'll never proc unless someone comes to shove your lane for you at which you dont even get that much. Passive income also not worth the cost you put into it
