Did Amumu really need buffs?

Title. Just now fully noticing his changes. I remember seeing the true damage rubbish but never saw how other changes are being made to facilitate its application.

Edit: Amumu isn't in a terrible spot. Building against AP already feels bad. People are saying Vladimir's ult is problematic, and now this being introduced...These buffs/changes just seem a little unnecessary right now.

If I'm honest - yes. As much as I hate facing a mumy - this little guy was always this Champ you could pick up anytime and get a good game with. His current state doesnt really supoort this.

A 2%Pick, 50% winrate seems to be balanced at first but... such an easy Champ getting only played by mains? And those mains barely scratch a positive winrate with him?

That's not a good sign. He needs some attention - for sure. However, I hope they're carefull. ^^'

Yes he did. His pre teamfight is one of the worst in the jungle. He is easy to shut down in the jungle while having poor pre 6 ganks and little objective control.

no, he didn't need anything, he is perfectly fine, but riot just loves to break shit around the house every once in awhile*[zombie-brand-facepalm]*

They are removing Mr shred from the game so the lethality users can continue to roflstomp the meta

Bultz4/4/2017, 8:12:24 PM4 votes

No he didn't. He needed nerfs if anything.

Depends, when was the last time you saw Amumu in platnium+?

They said to Increase his popularity, but I think he needs a VU and some kit changes like ww, cause he's(In my opinion) really unappealing and straight forward. Straight buffs no doubt will create more synergy with AP heavy teams(HI ZIGGS!), but I doubt it will do what Riot intends, all respect for them still.

My hope is that they exterminate pizza feet once and for all in 2017

As a amumu main i'm going to say he did not need buffs at all but clearly when they do stuff like this rito usually releases a skin for that champion

I'm a mage mid player, which means I'm totally unbiased in this discussion, and he certainly needs this buff :)

I suspect this won't effect squishy champions (who basically take true damage from sorc shoes and void staff anyways) so much as tanks. That creates an interesting situation where Amumu gets more use out of his passive by auto attacking tanks, but is generally more useful CCing/AAing squishier targets.

INb4 "wtf Riot made random uneeded buffs to amumu and now he's tier 1 OP" posts.

But yeah, I think it was a bad idea.

They're experimenting though

FakeGravity4/4/2017, 11:12:10 PM1 votes

no one ever picked amumu for his passive at all, you never consider having amumu in a team because you had magic damage dealers that benefic from it, now you actually want amumu in a heavy magic damage team because his passive will make the enemies so pointless

I imagine he had a low pick rate, or didn't have a strategic niche. Anything else they can nerf numbers.

Oakleaf Ranger4/5/2017, 1:58:31 AM1 votes

He didn't do anything that other champions already do better than he did. Now he has a niche that gives people a reason to pick him over others. I still don't think he going to be good in high elo though because none of the changes did anything to buff his early game. Unless this works on jungle creeps too and makes him jungle faster and healthier?
