Make Quick Silver Sash (QSS) more viable for everyone instead of just attack damage champs. It's pretty frustrating not having something to help a caster out while stunned. Allow it to go into an AP item, a tank item or something like that.
Mikaels only works on teammates, not yourself. I'm pretty sure it's intentional that there is no caster friendly item that it builds into.
Banshee's and zhonyas are the best we have. One being completely useless to AD champs :P
There are a lot of games where you won't reach max build before the game ends. It could be in your interest to have it in a slot for it's MR/utility... If team fights are being decided by you getting cc'd by that one ability :P
But if we did have an AP variant then it would kinda be a must buy item, which is what Riot is afraid of.
Adc's need it because their damage uutput is required through multiple auto's. Mages don't since they have better burst.
Don't AP have Zhonya's, and tanks tenacity?
Zhonya's only works to stop the damage, not when you're in a stun. And yeah, it would be a must have item if it had ap on it, so maybe an off stat like mana regen/hp regen maybe cdr with MR or armor resist. I mean I ended up finishing a QSS to save my life from an annoying Warwick as Ori lol.
