I'm confused. Which champion level is the scaling rune description referring to? On my champions there are champion mastery level and in-game there is champion level; but which level is the description on the scaling runes referring to? I checked the wiki but nothing is clear.
ZephyrDrake2 votesin game... why would anyone get scaling runes if they only provide stats up until lvl 5 when they don't even match up to flat one until lvl 8~9? The rune page itself even tells you "X stat at lvl 18" so not sure why the confusion

Exactly... it states at level 18 but did not mention whether champion mastery or in-game champion level.
TheLastShadow451 votesmastery only goes to five, plus scaling runes have been out longer then champion mastery. So why would it be referring to something new like that?

That... I also did not know that champion mastery is max at level 5. Thanks.
I have just started playing so... yeah... the noobish questions.
Muriyo1 votesUhh.. I'm pretty sure its the Champion level in game lol. 1-18.

Thanks. I have always thought it was the champion mastery level. I was confused and wiki did not help much. So I was buying the other type of runes for the longest since I started playing League of Legends around 4th quarter last year.
Vesarixx1 votesit's the in game level, having it based on your champion mastery level or summoner level would make absolutely no sense.
