@Meddler More Champion Masteries - Champion Mastery 8

Hey everybody, with Champion Mastery 6 & 7 we got a new "Hunt" or "Goal" to achieve with our main Champion/s. Because those masteries wer based on ratings after the game, they were quite harder to get unlike the other masteries where you literally just had to play the champion over a certain amount of time. But after this, there ist still potential for more or new masteries beeing based of ratings after the game. As you all know, it is possible to achive an "S+" grade, so why wouldn't you base a new mastery on "Rank S+ to earn a mastery 8 Token" and have the players to collect 3 or even 4 of those tokens?

We've talked about potentially extending Champion Mastery further. I'm not sure what current thinking and/or plans on that are though, my apologies, I don't work directly on or with the team that handles those sorts of systems.

and i mean it gotta end somewhere right lol . I don't want to be umm disapproving but there isn't exactly much reason to have that many champion masteries because its just a number and people will be like "eh i got this what more"

Why don't you make it up to level 30 the same way Summoner Level Functions?

I wonder if we can have different challenges for mastery 8 depending on which class your champion is

Like for tanks it could be things like damage tanked, total number of cc applied, neutral objective take downs

Supports could have different things like wards killed, assists or damage shielded

More direct gameplay related stuff, or perhaps even totally different challenges, like play your champion in different positions or something like that to shake up the meta a bit. Or interact with all champions on the roster to name something odd

We already need to get S games to get 7 so that proves a certain mastery is needed before you can attempt mastery 8

So mastery 8 could be something entirely different then just getting S+ ratings which could then be used for mastery 9.

And mastery 10 could be some sort of series of ridiculous challenges based on the champion itself like acquiring 10k health on Sion in a soloq game & killing 10 people with your passive etc etc, something iconic and unique for each champion

What about a mastery level exclusively for top summoners on that specific champion?

we need mastery lvls for true mains

lvl8 200k + 10S or S+ tokens lvl9 500k + 20S or S+ tokens lvl10 1M + 25 S+ tokens

those are some great......i mean realistically unattainable mastery levels unless you are a one-trick or play for most of the day everyday, and completely steamroll each match you play in

so at least one tricks get something that shows that they are one trick and truly main that champ.

lvl7 just says "oh wow he spent some time on that champ" but it's nothing special.

Please god no, its annoying enough already that I have to play to get S/S+ because of my semi-OCD which means I will probably farm all game, ditch fights to not die too much so that I can abuse the stupid system and get those tokens, then waste countless IP on champ shards for the essence instead of buying actual new champions. PLEASE.NO.

This is how I feel champion masteries are going along.

Jim: [Dwight hands Jim a piece of paper] Oh, what's this? Dwight: That is a demerit. Jim: [reads demerit] "Jim Halpert, tardiness." Ugh. I love it already. Dwight: You've gotta learn, Jim. You are second in command, but that does not put you above the law. Jim: Oh, I understand. And I also have lots of questions, like, what does a demerit mean? Dwight: [scoffs] Let's put it this way. You do not want to receive three of those. Jim: Lay it on me. Dwight: Three demerits and you'll receive a citation. Jim: Now that sounds serious. Dwight: Oh, it is serious. Five citations and you're looking at a violation. Four of those and you'll receive a verbal warning. Keep it up, and you're looking at a written warning. Two of those, that'll land you in a world of hurt... in the form of a disciplinary review written up by me and placed on the desk of my immediate superior. Jim: Which would be me. Dwight: That is correct. Jim: OK, I want a copy on my desk by the end of the day or you will receive a full disadulation. Dwight: What's a dis... what's that? Jim: Oh, you don't want to know.

i am perfectly content with thee way masteries are set. they feel like a challenge already so it don't really matter if ya feel the need ta jerk a few more games into feeling like the character is cooler with better emblems when its just easy to go around and actually get better and feel good about it.
