When i played Darius i thought to myself.....Ow...he has an axe, i bet is like Daruis like katarina and Garen, just like his counterparts that he wouldn't use mana for anything. But no.... his axe was given to him by a magical elf in Damacia. tell me.... why does he die when he runs out of magic. why does he use magic in the frst place. Darius a mage now. i bet when this guy was being trained, his master was like oh...btw dude, you shouldn't use your muscles and physical strenth, fule your weapons wih magic Darius its more effective. is this naruto where if you run out of chakara you loose your ability to fight. HE'S A BARABRIAN KNIGHT WITH AN AXE TAKE OFF MANA

Psst.

"Ma" is not a prefix. For "Ma" to be a prefix,

"gic" and "na" have to be standalone words. They are not.

What you mean is they have the same first syllable, and even that has nothing to do with their meaning or relation.

this would mean something except that it was the OP who first decided to say that "Ma" was a prefix... so he knows what it is or at the bare minimum has heard of them. If you have no idea what something is you shouldn't be talking like you know about it which is what the OP was doing

Mana is used as a balancing mechanic, nothing more. Darius uses mana for the same reason that characters with guns and crossbows use mana for their abilities, despite them only actually needing to just reload.
