How bad are enchanters nowdays?

After a 2-3 months on-again-off-again time with LoL mainly with TFT, I came back to play SR again as sole support/mid role. I play a variety of supports (mainly female champs) and it is so clear that mage/tank/engage supports are doing SO much better than when I play as enchanters.

Basically, they really put enchanters to be "the help" with virtually no fighting power. I remember when they used to rework Janna to a fighting kit and that was so exciting but that's not longer the case. All your success is solely depending on your significant other. Janna feels meh, Sona is pretty bad until the teamfight phase, Lulu is just awful, Karma... is actually pretty nice, Nami is decent, and Soraka is Soraka nothing new. I really thought they've moved past this phase of the game where enchanter supports are done being the dependent parasite that needs a host (besides Yuumi) and actually have some fighting power, but guess not they're just frail and useless on their own.

I probably would be better off playing a mage or engage support because seems like the 'enchanters way' doesn't fit my assertive play style anymore, but I joined LoL back in S1 along with the OG supports like Janna and Soraka that it hurts to see them so pitiful, fully dependant characters. I love the designs of the enchanters so much but it's so lame to play them anything but in a fighting way.

the two best supports are naut and leona cuz tanks in all other role are garbage

but that being said i have 57% win rate on sona with 137 games

You wanna play enchanters like mages so just play mages

Enchanters are far too squishy early imo. They all get blown up if they make one mistake. For how low impact they are early. Karma is alright, Janna's cd are a bit too high early, Nami is fine just suffers from being squishy, Soraka's Q is far too slow against good opponents, Lulu's polymorph range should be a bit higher, and her Q should do more damage if you hit both lances. Overall they're all okay but there's a few things I would like changed, base stats in particular because it's "oops I made one mistake, time to blowup and now the enemy will snowball".

Mage sups suffer from this as well, but they at least have high damage early and typically higher range so it's safer. It's more deserved in their case to have poor base stats outside of AP.
