Garen Destroys any melee champion.
If you don't win lane as Garen against a melee, you're a horrible player.

Anyone that can poke him down or out trade him.
I must be doing something wrong then, because I always lose lane with Garen. Just kidding. It's only 80% of the time. The rest of the time, I'm a tank who deals no damage.

But why. Im confused. I can go top with zed or yasuo or fizz or kassadin or gragas and melt a garen. it's really not that hard. Unless its like 40 mins in and garen is full tank build then it might be a little harder.
Just counter him with Pantheon or Darius. With pantheon you can poke him to death with your Javelins, and with Darius you can grab him when he's near a turret.
The only thing that bothers me about Garen is the speed boost he has. Anyone wears down all his health that can take ages(sometimes) and all he has to do is use speed boost and no-one can catch him.
