Shouldn't champion tokens be enough for Champ mastery?

I have a lot of tokens for champ mastery, but I lack the blue essence to level them up. I feel like it shouldn't cost blue essence, since it is really going off of how skillful you are with the champions, and not how much blue essence you have. It bugs me that in order to get mastery 7 on a champion you have to spend enough be for a 6300 champion. What do you guys think??

That's the point. A lot of people are really good with a champion. But the M7 flair is only afforded to those who also spend the time and effort it takes to accrue enough BE. You have to be good at the champ... but you also have to want it enough to spend BE on it instead of something else.
