Skillshots were what made this game a sport

For awhile only ADC had dashes and for a good reason. They are supposed to be mobile.

The occasional mid laner and jungler but rarely.

Ever since ahri came out (no not a nerf ahri thread i used to play her a lot) they released nearly every champion with a dash.

Let me tell you, landing a big skillshot for a kill is like landing a clutch 3 pointer. It really made the game have a sporty feel.

Think of ryze before rework. Everyone knew him as "mash buttons get kills" which was quite unskillful. But now seasons later you find yourself in games where almost every champion has a dash.

I always thought skillshots were the most skillful thing in the game hence SKILLshot

Personally this is where the game has slowly started to fall off skill. Sure deathtimers are long and such but the "skill" itself of league has gone downhill. I'm not a top tier player my main hit diamond V once but that's nothing to professionals. I just really think riot needs to rencooperate "skill" factor into the game.

u wot m8

Amumu Alistar Fiddlesticks Jax Shen Shaco Nidalee Tryndamere Katarina Pantheon are part of the original 40 champions designed. They all have dashes and are not ADC.

When the @#*$&% did "only ADC have dashes"?

You do realize that in every season, the proportion of "Point and click guaranteed spell" to "Skillshot ability" has gone down , right? we have the smallest proportion of non-skillshot abilities that we've ever had.

I don't disagree with your idea, but I'm not understanding why skillshot = sport. It's not the driving idea, or at least not what I gathered you wanted.

I suppose I could make an argument regarding macro/tactical play, given that it's an omnipresent thing in all competitive games (even the physical kind) and much more deserving of being called "The thing that makes LoL a sport". Every kind of game has mechanics, and the players that master them are always great, but they never quite seem to hold up to masters of strategy.

But as a low-level player, I feel like being great mechanically is no longer a necessity for me to climb versus being macro-aware and acting accordingly. Not sure if that's good or bad yet, mostly cause I haven't played in a while. I do miss seeing a lot of high-mechanics players in games I watch, though, there's just something cool about it.

Not... really. There's a certain amount of skill in a skill shot (I mean, you have to land the thing), hence the title, but that doesn't make it the most skillful thing ever.

Positioning, teamwork, coordination, objectives, all of those make the sport too.
