id consider yasuo a huge success in that area. the problem with him is more that people dont understand how to play against him and complain about his mobility, less than hes not working properly. if you actually know how conditional his mobility is, its easy to outposition him.

he should be the template for a melee carry in this game imo.

Considering DOTA2 has demonstrated the only realistic way to fix them is to make them partially immune or extremely resistant to CC and kiting, I don't think you'll ever get a fix you're happy with. They either get their CC immunity and roflstomp with it when ahead or get put so far behind they blow up in teamfights even with the CC resistance.

MasterYi immunity to attack speed slows is especially a massive problem since he's immune to everything you're supposed to build to counter him when he's ahead other than thornmail, but he's vastly overshadowed by the tank and mobility creep problems.

Fiora is a statsball with a zhonyas gapcloser, and the only counterplay to it is to force her to teamfight so she can't dump all her damage on one person. The moment you change anything in her kit she loses her identity as one of the top-tier 1v1ers and hypercarries in the game since her scaling is through the roof.

Tryndamere only ever splitpushes, even with death immunity he manages to be complete garbage in teamfights due to his reliance on crit, they have to finish reworking crit before one can even figure out how Trynd functions as a melee ADC

Gangplank has the problem of crit fishing for days or being impossible to push out of lane if he maxes W first.

Riven LeeSin RekSai Khazix and Rengar are all mobility creep problems in and of themselves.

well, like i said. they already made a melee carry work in this game. complaints or not, hes how a melee carry should look like.

Yasuo

im just sitting here waiting for fioras rework, where they wanted to make her more like yasuo. mechanically difficult to pull off, but with a lot of outplay potential to deal with ranged champions.

I've no arguments about Yasuo.

But I have serious doubts that champion design can produce another Yasuo via rework or new champion, given what they did to Kassadin, Veigar and Talon. Even LeBlanc is going to continue to be even more toxic without her silence than she was with it. Without her silence, her numbers are effectively what they were at release.

Jax is the champion what i looking for. He got 2 functions that every melee carry should have.

  • Free damage reduction ( 100% evasion, lower 30% AOE damage)
  • Free defensive stats when he buys offensive stat ( R active )

But for me, he is melee caster, unload the burst combo in 1st hit, over real AA champ.

the idea of a high damage sustained character in the front line is rare in any game, they almost always have semi high damage and ok survivability, so dont act like its something super common and riot just cant figure it out.

You can look those in S1

doublelift fg1 votes

you forgot aatrox and jax

but if mele carries aren't viable, it is because ranged one does their job better with 500 range they even have a better early game

Coz, jax is viable. Aatrox still got hard CC
