Is Lux support any good?

Lux is one of my favorite characters in League. I used to play her all the time as a support. Eventually, I was repeatedly told that Lux support is garbage and that I should stop playing her. I didn't listen, but eventually I started to get concerned as most of the people I played with told me I could do much better if I played my other supports like Morgana, Leona and Sona (My main). But I love Lux's personality and her kit is a ton of fun to use, so I decided to try to learn mid. After a while, I learned that I just can't play Lux mid. I don't know what it is, but my KDA's hardly break positive most games and I tend to rack up assists with very few kills. So, I got to thinking: Is Lux support really that bad? her kit is nearly identical to Morgana's, and she's a support.

It is workable, but there are better options.

If you are willing to purchase a gold-generation item and Sightstone, I wouldn't have any complaints about you picking Lux as a support.

Lux support isn't bad, and it can synergize well with some adc's People are just salty about lux mains coming from mid building doing "full ap ks'ing no gold item or sightstone bs", that has made not only opponents but your own team salty on some occasions

I mean, I've never really known how to build lux support. I always build item 2301 or item 3092 item 2049 but after that I kinda just build AP... so I might be part of the problem :3

When played well, Lux support is great. She's got a long root (that can even hit both enemy champs if it's landed really well), an AOE slow, and a shield for both teammates. Since all of that is utility that doesn't depend on her piling a ton of AP, it's ok that she's not building like she would mid.

Lux support is decent? i don't know who've you been talking to, but i suppose Morgana can do her job as support better, better sheild, longer bind, lesser cool downs, Morgana just has better overall utility then Lux support. what Lux lacks in utility she makes up in burst which is really not wanted for a support.

It really depends on the player. I've had some Lux mains who rocked it. But I've also had others who make it look like trash. I know that's said about every champ but Lux support is really iffy because if you miss your q, chances are the enemy is smart enough to go in on you/your ADC considering you're both very squishy and you just used your snare.

Lux is a fantastic support. Not only can she do a supports job, but she tilts her own adc hard as fuck while doing it. 10/10 support pick, would use again.

She is good with Jhin. Also she need AP and her mana costs are too high compared to other mage supports, so you go ooom, if you spam.

It's not bad no. But understanding what your team needs will be how you win most games. If your team already has a lot of damage, adding more damage is unnecessary and may hurt your game in the long run. But if you have a good front line or an ad mid picking lux, zyra, morg, etc isn't a bad idea.

Lux is my favourite, and the first lv7 I got. I always use Lux as sup(go mid if needed...), and for me it was totally fine (i don't have a rank yet, but i'm not higher than gold). Mainly what I do is just like a normal sup, buy item 2049 item 3107 item 3117 and item 3174 (this give you healing on w for ur teammate, if you don't want ) (buy a item 3802 at first time going back, it totally solve mana issues as long as you don't e everytime the cd finish) . Her kit is good (for a team that don't have enough cc), I have mag penetration on marks and AP of essences, so when I reach lv6 in game I can qere (with auto) the oppoinent adc and my adc usually gets the kill (or maybe this just one-shot them). If my adc is just bad i'll go item 3020 item 3135 and be an ap carry lol. Team fight is qer-ing their crispy carry and through w for ur teamate and auto when i'm in CD (don't forget to give summoner 3 to their carry/assassin). Idk if i'm BSing for you as this might not apply to you. Another thing, don't really follow any build given, just buy what ever item you need, like item 3157 But of course, if ur team really need a tank then play someone like Nautilus I guess.

The thing is maximizing the efficiency of ur little money... like don't go item 3089 since you are playing sup not mid... or get a lot of assist form different enemy which give u more money i guess...
