I don't understand the Fizz Changes

In general the Assassin changes all make sense. I can read the developer comments and the ability descriptions and feel that I understand the rationale behind the decisions and what you are looking to accomplish. I can't make a cohesive picture of the Fizz changes at all. I believe the identity goal for Fizz was to be the "Slippery" assassin, the one who can always get to the back line. While we can all agree that bigger sharks = a better game, I can't mentally picture what this champion will look like in-game right now after all these changes.

I'd be happy to listen to anyone who would like to explain it, thanks!

Fizz is becoming more like Zed, where he's delayed burst, rather than just LeBroken style instagibbing people. Your W is now a delayed burst of damage, and your R is rewarding you for surprising people with a long range shark.

So now you have to use your E for more than just one shotting people. You can use it to stall for time to use your W and make people explode in combination with your ult. ^^

I think the only changes to fizz was the shark, so if you throw the shark up close, its tiny, bit if you throw it from afar, its big

Well it kinda sucks to be melee ranged' by a "skillshot" (as if hitting any skillshot at melee range was a challenge) that deals ~900 damage....

A few more questions for the developers: Does the knockback radius of the shark increase as well, or just the damage? Will the active on Seastone Trident still apply to the target of Urchin Strike, or does it have to be a basic attack? Does the new Seastone Trident passive reset basic attacks?

Thanks!

the bigger shark on R is supposed to make him good at initiating a fight, the W changes are to make him stay on a target longer to do high damage

fizz was never meant or designed to be an assassin. he was designed to be a slippery skirmish champion.

he was made into an assassin when the players discovered they can abused some items to get 100-0 burst on him.
