Meddler, can you give me your opinion about Talon and his early level laning phase?
I've played Talon for a long time and his poor laning phase against ranged champions always bothered me, but in the past I could tolerate it because his E had a silence and his ultimate was a very strong, low cooldown ultimate, so those factors seemed to balance eachother out. With the upcoming changes to his ultimate, his snowballing, damage output and escape options all will drastically be weakened. That is the choice you guys made for game balance and I respect that. However, have you guys ever played Talon vs ranged champions, be they mages (lux, ahri especially) or marksman, I feel that the laning phase is extremely frustrating and one sided. When I play Zed or Yasuo, I can atleast get some farm, play defensive or kill the target. With Talon there is non of that, I get bullied out of the lane very easily (at higher elo), my Rake doesn't do that much damage and as a farming tool it is decent, but very mana hungry.
Can you make Talons early level a bit less frustrating and hard, now that you are taking away a large portion of his snowballing? Would it be too much to lower the the mana cost and perhaps the early level cooldow of W to help Talon with farming and holding his own during the early levels of the laning phase?
I would love to hear your opinion on this, I know you guys plan to do major kit rework on Talon when you eventually do some work in the future on Assassins, but this change is pretty small so it shouldn't be that hard.
Also, other people who read this, Talon players and those who play against Talons, feel free to share your opinion and thoughts about the early level laning phase of Talon.
Thanks in advance.
