Why So Many BOTS?!?

No seriously though, the amount of bot accounts on ARAM and coop vs AI is crazy! I've had it where in ARAM we were facing a team of 4 bots and 1 normal player. It makes the game unfair ESPECIALLY for beginners who play the coop vs Ai games. I'm scared to get my friend into Co-op because usually there is at least 1 bot in EVERY game! Beginners can't handle that kind of pressure when you have 1-4 bots in a game depending on who you party up with.

Please riot. PLEASE dear god somebody fix this bot problem. It ruins the game for people who just want to have fun, test our new champions, learn how to play the actual game, etc. I've even found bots in the INTRO Co-op vs Ai. You know the game mode meant to help out new players? Imagine how annoying that would be if you're a beginner to League and have to deal with bot accounts on one of the easiest modes in the game, it's easier for players like me to deal with bots because I'm more experienced and I actually know how to play the game. but for new players who are still learning the controls, etc it's just plain unfair and wrong.

This issue is important to me and I want it to be taken seriously. Botting accounts make the game less fun for all of us and makes it extremely difficult for new players to play and enjoy Co-op.

I'm not a techy person, so sadly I have no idea how to fix this problem. maybe tighter security so people can't create, sell or use bot accounts in any game-mode. All I know is that this is an issue, and it's ruining the game for a lot of people who just want to have fun. What's worse is that every time I report a bot I feel like 10 more bot accounts get created, nor do I believe any action is being taken to stop/ban the bot accounts. So I don't know if Riot is actually doing anything about this since I report the bots and that's it, I got no notification on if Riot actually does any action.

For those of you who don't know how to identify a bot account, let me explain.

On Co-op vs Ai. A bot account will usually:

  1. Pick a champion from the rotation
  2. Have a generic icon (Free icons)
  3. Have no masteries
  4. Will take the longest to load in.
  5. Will always go to mid lane
  6. Will attack enemy bots under enemy turrets
  7. FEED! (Ive seen an enemy bot get so fed they were 41/3 just from the 3 bot accounts we had in our Co-op game)

On ARAM Bot Accounts will usually:

  1. Pick from rotation
  2. Will not trade with a normal player (Bots can't trade so they will just give you no response to the trade request) 3.Will have generic icon (Free Icon)
  3. No Masteries
  4. Will take the longest to load in.
  5. Will leave the base as soon as game start (i_nstant purchase starting items_)
  6. Will wait in the allied tower (i mean like right up against it or glitching out inside it)
  7. Rush in blindly
  8. FEED!

WARNING! Bot accounts can type in chat, it's like an auto typer or something. But if a champion in your game shows signs from the list above, and starts to type these types of things, you know 100% they are a bot.

  1. This hero is difficult for me to use. (Most noticeable/common, they say Hero instead of Champion. Nobody in the LOL community calls there characters 'Heroes' this is how you know it's a bot)
  2. What is wrong with my computer.
  3. What is wrong with my mouse.
  4. Etc (Those three are the only ones I've come across/can remember)

So to recap. Bot accounts are crazier than ever on league. It's unfair for those who want to have fun, it makes it difficult for beginners to learn the game. And it's down right cheating/hacking. Riot please at least look into this issue? Because it's important for those of us who just want to have fun and play the game.

It's VERY easy to tell which ones are bots. Unfortunately those accounts make it to 30 and they sell for a good amount of money so they won't stop. As Riot bans them the owners make new ones and change the programming to be harder to detect. It's like smurfing, it ruins the experience for new players but there isn't much you can do about it.

And sometimes they say random things to look like they aren't bots, but their behaviour never changes.

Have not had a bot in ARAM recently, however Monday I was trying to earn enough to unlock Kayn by spamming co-op vs AI for IP. I had 4 bots in one game where they just run down mid and die while I was playing GP. Every two or three games I would have a single game without a bot, so that was irritating.

I hate when people still tell me ''bots don't exist man, who told you that? They aren't bots, they are just beginners... BOTS DON'T EXIST!''

People are constantly telling me this and It seems I can't make them believe me that bots truly exist...

Okay, I am of two minds on the bot problem. From two perspectives.

Perspective One: As someone who has been playing for a long time, with a level 30 account, I rarely see more than 1-2 bots in any single AI game. They seem to be less prevalent for level 30 accounts, presumably because they are sold at that point. But for me, I LOVE seeing bots on my team. They all run mid, meaning I get to have fun 2v1 in bottom or top lane (or you can mid-lane, just let them get killed every time they come back into lane, and enjoy the fact that you constantly get 300+ gold for killing the enemy midlaner). They are useless, which means the game lasts longer and I get to get further into my build. And when I choose to play Co-op vs. AI, I'm there most often just to relax and goof around, so long games suit me just fine. HOWEVER: Having said that, I still ALWAYS report them in the post-game, because of perspective number two, below:

Perspective Two: About a year ago, my little sister wanted to have an account of her own (I used to let her use mine to play custom games on her own, her and four bots vs. 5 bots). She was old enough to play according to the ToS, so I made an account for her and got her her favorite champ so she could play. And for low-level accounts, the bot problem is MUCH worse. She was often the only human player trying to carry four bots, and as a new player, she just didn't have the skill. Occasionally, she would manage to be one of TWO humans on her team, but the second human was invariably a smurf account and more often than not, that account's owner would actually FLAME her for not being good enough to help him carry. She got so discouraged and upset by the repeated losses and FREQUENT verbal abuse that she quit and never touched the account again. For this reason, I agree that something needs to be done about the bots. Bots (and to a lesser degree, smurfs) absolutely RUINED this game for my sister, and I'm sure for many others as well. And that's sad. That is also why I would NEVER recommend this game to another new player. After what happened to my little sis, I'd never purposely encourage anyone to face that sort of environment again.

Why so many bots? I mean we got Blitzcrank Orianna and Viktor plus skins for Urgot KogMaw Velkoz Skarner Xerath Chogath Khazix Malphite Sion Aatrox Camille Lissandra Soraka Zed Katarina Ashe Ekko Fiora Leona MasterYi Lucian Yasuo Rammus As well as many half robots. Thats so many bots...

This topic is at least 3 years old, when i started playing and the sad part is, it still exists ....

The real dager of a bots running around a game isnt gameplay, but who would say that?

The ransomwared Refrigerator decided to let me know. Nice pinup BTW. Other things are making out as well.

Because in RIOT's interest is when you play PvP.Not vs AI.I would not be surprised at all if RIOT keep adding those bots in every single game.

20 days ago was every second game one bot,now every game literally + every second or third game there are at least 2 bots on my team,sometimes even 3.

How hard could it be for multi million dollar company to resolve that issue?But there's one major thing which is they do NOT care.They do not care what is going on in VS AI.PvP on the other hand...Couple days ago i had bot in pvp game.Soon this is going to be come major issue in pvp as well.

I've never had a bot in ARAM but they are in just about every Co-op vs A.I. game and I'm sick of it. Mid lane is arguably one of the hardest/funnest lanes to play and you can't even play because the bots leech exp so I hit my level spikes a lot slower; and mindlessly attack minions, making it harder to last hit or to freeze the lane. They really need to fix it. If we players can spot these bots, why can't Riot?

They also always disconnect half way through the game for a minute or two. The cheap bots dont usually buy items until they die.

Its flat our selling lvl 30 accounts because Riot still will not charge for the game.

If they charged $10 or even $5 for the game and changed the lvling ranked/system so you have to actually play the game to grow we would not see this as much. We also would not see as much trollers/AFKers/Hackers Scripters because getting the account perma banned actually cost them money.

They need to add a few Champions and Skins that are gained only through rewards (that take game time to get) this way people may not want to risk losing the account because of how much work was put into getting that champ/skin.

A lot of the current issue with bots has actually resulted from Dominion being retired.

From personal experience, whenever I'd play Dominion, there would be 2-3 bots on both teams every single game, and not a single team actually had 5 real players on it. Therefore, I would expect that many of the bots migrated from the discontinued Dominion mode onto ARAM/Co-op vs AI.

Im gonna have to argue with 2 and 3 for the responses because those have happened to me but i agree with the rest it is super tedious and frustrating when you are the only human person on the team that has actual skills. Second Riot has to identify between a bot and a noob/newbie. Finally i cannot even comprehend how many reports that riot gets everyday and they have to go though them all so it is hard to file through fake and real reports.

I'm either Blind Lucky Get the bots that don't feed Am at a high enough ARAM ELO (it's a thing) that the bots can't reach me
