@Riot Removing Draft skews MMR and adds toxicity
TL;DR: Without normal draft, if I want to learn a new champion, I'm forced to either tank my Ranked MMR (and piss off a bunch of players) or play the new champ 1 out of 3 games--not making much progress.
Long Form: I played Kat after the rework and I really enjoy her, though I never did before. I'm primarily Jungle/ADC/Supp, and am not great midlane anyway. So how do I learn her? I'd like to just pump out some Kat games in the hour or two I have to play in the day, but in blind, the chance of me getting mid is small, & I might not get to play her at all. No fun.
If I go to Ranked, I'm going to lose several games in a row, because my MMR with Kat is probably half of my MMR with the champs I normally play. This massive elo disparity is not going to be fun for me or my team.
That's what I used Normal Ranked for: learning a new champ in an environment where I could consistently play her and not disrupt ranked games. My normal-draft MMR is far lower than that for the other queues, which works out for everyone because I play champs I'm less good with there.
Especially for champs that are feast or famine, learning them is already a frustrating process. Don't make this worse by bootstrapping that to ranked games.
