Pick Intent and Allies Banning - Change Idea

I have had this happen a few times where another player and I both select the same champion for pick intent. They may ask if they can play that champion and I would say no. Then, because I have first pick before them and they have bans, they just ban the champion.

I don't know how often this happens to other people but it is rather infuriating to me. It seems like it should be reportable for refusing to communicate with your team or something similar.

My opinion is that pick intent needs to be tweaked to be more useful in more than one case.

  • Pick intent should never be visible to the enemy team. The game should not auto-select the champ you had selected for pick intent. It doesn't take long to just scroll down and pick the champ I want and if I change my mind I would rather not tell the enemy team what champion I intended to pick for no reason at all.

  • Pick intent should prevent your team from banning any champion your team selected for pick intent. I can see this being a stretch but maybe if your team has a champion selected for pick intent and you want to ban that champ (maybe you really are afraid the enemy will get that champion) then there could be a vote where if 3/5 players agree to ban the champion then the champ gets banned.

These are just some ideas I have thrown around since having my frustrations.

Riot addressed the issue of banning pick peoples pick intent. The reason you can bans peoples pick intent. The last pick could choose jax or mundo. Then you can't ban them and the other team could pick them. If you and the same person want the same champ choose a different champ for your pick intent then pick the one you actually want to play.

It would give premades more power. It's whatever you want to ban I can ban galio if I want should I probably not. In old draft people would say I want to play op champ and they would still ban it because it's the smart thing to do.
