Stop with the posts about "Tired of getting support as fill"

-Its simple. If you pick fill you ARE going to get support as fill about 90% of the time. ESPECIALLY as a solo player. Thats what FILL means, you will fill the remaining role for a team, which will be the least selected role. System is working as intended.

-That being said, my method is to fill until I get the icon telling me I will get one of my selected roles. At that time I choose top/jung/mid as my roles and I play whatever I get.

-When you say its lame you get support as fill what you are really saying is that you dont want to fill. Its an oxymoron.

-However I wouldnt mind seeing another option added that was fill/not support or something like that.

There is this thing called AUTOFILL.... it means... that RIOT forces you into the FILL position NOT that you selected it.

The Reason Support is often the Fill Role is because they get pretty much all the blame for anyone messing up which drives people away from wanting to play it and therefore the support role becomes very barren.

Actually, I beg to differ. Sure, some ADC's aren't very nice and we get blamed for things they did, but support awareness is pretty damn awesome right now and honestly, most ADC's I play with are tolerable to downright friendly. Some of them I would like to play with them again. I believe that the real reason that supports aren't played as often is because it is a very selfless role and you don't get as many opportunities to get kills and no matter what people say, getting kills is fun. You have to sacrifice gold and item slots to give your team the biggest advantage and you also have a level disadvantage and rarely any kills. The stats at the end that show damage don't give much credit to supports because most supports don't do a lot of damage, again, contributing to the lack of glory. Also, supports, tanky support especially, have a tough time carrying/salvaging games. It is not impossible, but an 8/1 Akali can do a lot more to win a game of feeders than an 8/1 Taric or even Brand. Sure he is fed, but he still has to sacrifice items and gold for his team so it will be harder to carry.

tl:dr Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad. I'm just kidding. Support isn't glamorous and it is selfless. That is the main reason why it isn't as popular.

ya maybe i kinda went waaaay to general but it just a lot of the times when I am playing support I for some reason get stuck with all the blame. Top/mid/jung goes 0/21. The loss is because of the 0/5 support for not warding when I had my sightstone drained 24/7 trying to get wards out but the enemy team is packing a lot of sweepers. other times I get adc's that bascially afk cause I take one minion when they leave the lane to back. Guess I just get unlucky a lot

Nah, basically only ADC's whine about support. Meanwhile, TOP, ADC and MID pile on the Jungler. ^^

Which is why I play support.

Not really. You have to have a certain personality flaw in order to play Support. It's a really weird set of people with a very specific personality that play the Support role as a "main"

Having well over 1000 games as Support and very much being a Support main, I can tell you this role is NOT for everyone and I can TOTALLY understand why 90% of the playerbase hates this role.

When I first started playing League I played a fuck load of Kayle top. I then qued up with a bunch of friends and they made me go "support" I had no idea what a "support" was so I just played normal taking minions and shit healing myself. my ADC yelled at me and said "no you can't take CS, your heals should be used mostly on me and you need to let me have all the kills" and I said exactly this:

"What the fuck? I hate this role who would play this shit? Never going this lane again"

A few years later and it's the only role I actually enjoy playing. 1000's of games in and I don't think this role should be played by anyone who doesn't have a very specific metal disability to enjoy this shit.

Unless you're above the top of plat, or the very extreme bottom of bronze, you'll never get autofilled.

It's funny because even if you DO happen to get autofilled, Riot made it so that you get this fancy little icon at the bottom of your screen saying, "You are guaranteed one of your selected roles this game because you have recently autofilled or played support". There's also the fact that you cannot get autofilled during your promos either. Granted, it might suck when you do get autofilled, but Riot has implemented some system to prevent you from ALWAYS getting autofilled. If you pick fill though, you're biting the bullet by saying that you don't mind picking support.

Attention! Unpopular opinion incoming: If you want shorter Queue-times and do not want to play standard Support (Thresh, Braum, Janna, Lulu, ...) why not pick Non-Meta stuff in the bot-lane (at least in NORMALS)? I cannot remember how often i've gotten destroyed by such comps as ADC+Riven, ADC+Pantheon, ADC+LeBlanc, ADC+Rengar, ... Gold-Income is not the big of a problem if you can get a couple of assists or even kills early since many botlane players don't know how to play and react to non-meta picks down there. Me for example I am a big fan of Support-Velkoz,Sion,Trundle,Brand,Olaf.
