MMR question
Do you gain / lose MMR soley on wins/losses or if you play your best and do really good while your team is telling each other how they banged their moms last night while losing all the time, you get MMR for playing well?

Solely by wins/losses.
The magnitude of the MMR gains/losses depend on your mmr relative to those on the other team, but not on your in game stats.
So for example if you're a high mmr normals pplayer who tends to play at a diamond mmr and you duo with a bronze player, if you lose the resulting game (probably against silvers/golds) then you'll lose a lot more mmr than you would lose if you had played a solo game at your own mmr.
