Yi AD vs AS

So I was trying 2 builds when I started playing Master Yi and my second one did seem to wreak havoc but it did have a cost for being expensive. So I was wondering if any master Master Yi players know which one I should go with.

everyone will say AS, that is the default yi setup, ad is...different. but it can work, alpha strike can do a lot of damage with AD

you need some degree of both, yi doesn't work well pure AS or pure AD. once you select a build try to augment the stats that are lacking with runes and you should be ok.

Sadly, none of the abilities scale too well with AD. His Q and E scaling is ok, unlike other assassins who get >50% AD scaling on abilities. His passive scales with AS.

in short, you need both AD and AS. If going just AD then you gotta go max crit to one shot squishy ADC and runaway. That said AS is pretty cheap and there are plenty of items.

These 3 (e.g. build). will take you to ~1.6 AS and with ult you'll go beyond 2 and gives ~50% crit. Aka Glass cannon, works only if you play Yi as cleaning crew/ split pushing. item 3006 - 35% AS item 3078 - 40% AS item 3046 - 45% AS item 3072 item 3508 item 3156

I have never seen a full AD, only part AS like item 1419 item 3142 item 3508 item 3072 item 3111 item 3147 - Partial AS as GhostBlade provides 40%AS

Or another way, yet to test. ( I doubt if it'll work, but Yi's Q will be feared), he'll be tanky + easy farm. item 1412 item 3053 item 3078 item 3748 item 3156 item 3124
