@Riot A thought about Rengar's Ult

Hi Riot, so overall i thoroughly enjoy what you have done with assassin rework especially my good hunting partner Rengar, but I did have a thought about one of his changes. Since Rengar's new ultimate has changed to what i consider a nerf I wanted to address an alternate solution. Currently the Ultimate is similar to Evelynn stealth (or camo) where if you get to close you will become revealed and you are restricted to jump on only the closest target. My thought is doesn't this restrict what Rengar can do tremendously in the mid to late game grouping phase. It would mean that to get the ADC you are forced to go through their team, which you cant do anyway because you will get revealed. If you approach the team from the back and flank the enemy team has plenty of time from when it shows who is closest to Rengar to readjust and make sure he cannot get to him/her. Forcing for Rengar to wait until the fight is over to clean up. Now I'm not sure about you but Rengar doesn't seem the type to want to be hunting leftovers. So here is my idea. What if like Sion, Rek'sai, etc Rengar's ult had a global notification. For example ( Rengar Ults EVERYONE on the map hears the words "Listen." or "Focus.", then when Rengar gets within a certain range a visual indicator shows above the nearby enemies saying that he is near you. About the same range as Pre-rework.) I don't think the problem was his burst but the fact that by the time you knew he was coming for you he was on top of you turning you into kitty litter. The Global notification would give everyone a chance to back the hell up and if they don't then they fall to a Rengar. I think would work simply because it is a fair warning but also with the increased time on the ultimate it gives him to to choose his plan of attack on an enemy that has heeded the global warning. And if Rengar finds it to be unsuitable he still might have time to make his way to the neighboring lane for a different attack. Thanks for reading :) Feedback is greatly Appreciated!

Rengar has always been one of the worst team fights unfourtunately its incredibly fraustrating. i think the new W will encourage getting a tank item or two and diving in onto squshies.

I've gone into thought about this as well. People are afraid that Rengar will become a bruiser/tank champion with the new W but I have to disagree the new W is far more useful if you are squishy. Since there is a time restraint on the damage window (1.5 seconds) then he is limited on to how long he has to make use of the ability being tanky essentially means he will heal for less in the end. The new bonetooth necklace also greatly encourages building AD items with the percentage increase to his AD.

Ideally then you should build just barely tanky enough to survive exactly 1.5 seconds so you can heal your entire lifebar instantly. Of course you'll never hit that point exactly but that will be the target, I think.

You may see some Rengar builds with item 3742 or item 3053 so that he can survive just a little bit longer. I agree you probably won't see builds with 3-4 tank items like Darius though.

item 3053 actually seems like an excellent choice, the extra health and passive will increase the beefiness and still provide some damage but still make his W fairly relevant, i can see it being maybe 3rd or 4th item depending on the situation. Dead mans might be viable option for a heavy AD team.

personally i will be buying item 3065 or item 3156 and for an armor item probably dead mans yea.

My build will probably be similar but different

im thinking item 1412 or item 1400 > item 3158 > item 3142 > item 3147 > item 3087 >item 3031

but depending on if im getting focused and need extra survivability youd get a item 3053 item 3742 instead of the item 3147

Your jump from a ult will be huge damage because of the guaranteed crit, item 3087 item 3031, and the new item 3147 passive where you do bonus true damage scaling with your lethality, and since item 3147, item 3142 both give scaling Lethality so at level 11 it does about 117 true damage on hit, + 182 shock damage from item 3087 + the crit auto attack damage itself your looking at a huge chunk of damage coming out of a carries health without even using your Q. And if your at least decently ahead (Lets say 4 stacks on the necklace which is 10 + 20% attack damage) you can literally chunk the hell out of any squishy and finish them with a Q

So the combo will be essentially the same it will be R> jump > E> W> and at the end of jump Q> Q
