Nice one riot. Nerf rakan bc competitive, one of the only supports i or anyone even found fun playing, mind you. He was fun bc it was fun tagging people with your R + W mechanic.. also why can rakan not have these cool synergies but Yasuo and Riven can? Yasuo can spin Q during his R (called airblade) and riven can press R anytime in the middle of her abilities and have 5 different animation cancels that arent even hard to perform..
Since riot is changing them not nerfing them, the goal is to make them healthier.
Rakan changes aren't a nerf
They removed the 0 counterplay engage Rakan had The engage that CC enemies and catch them for his team to kill them , the only reason why he is picked in pro play , yet if his team failed to catch up with his engage His engage becomes useless and he almost gets 1 shot because he is extremely squishy for someone who's kit is to engage
Now they gave him tankiness ,Healthy changes overall
Well, these guys are good in competitive and the cancer of riven/yasuo aren't
So they balance the game around that 0.03% of people
The way she goes
Base HP increased from 480 to 540 Base Armor increased from 29 to 32 Base AD lowered from 70 to 58 Base MR increased from 30 to 32 MR growth increased from .5 to 1.25 Grand Entrance (W) dash speed increased from 1500 to 1850 The Quickness (R) "Rakan has a .5s cast time (he can still move) where he can no longer use his 2 or Flash" "I put in a buffering system for the R > W that should make things feel a lot more fluid. If you press W while in the R cast time it should buffer like a normal spell combo."
those are the changes for rakan on pbe if im not mistaken (they detched his no W in R and R buffs all together i think) i cant say those changes are nerfs to rakan when you get a massive amount of buffs to tankness and extra speed on W, it just give a small time for the enemy to flash your RW and thats fair.
they both are getting adjected to be better in solo Q without being broken in pro which is the right choice.
