Questions about promo matches into ranked

So this is my second season playing ranked and, due to wifi issues, im just now doing my promo matches. Im currently 5/2 having gotten 4 S ranks(2 on Ezreal and 2 on Sona) and im an ADC main with support as my second. So last season I went 1/9 and placed B3. Due to a combination of bad gameplay and barely good enough internet and PC I dropped to B5. So i was wondering, does my rank last year affect my ranked placement this year, because if I end up with like 8/2 or 7/3 I was concerned that my last years score will tank me down alot
