Blind Pick Lane Calling

So I was just playing with some friends and I spam called jg, or tried to at least. Though one of my friends told me in the call, "Lol, I heard you type a lot but I don't see anything in chat." And my other friend said, "He literally typed it like 10 times." So my friend told me he would send me a snip of his chat, and he really didn't see it. So I sent a screenshot of how my chat was there in between a certain time of the texts. Why does this happen? I have an idea of how this happens, but I want to know why. I've known this was an issue since season 3, I've played since late s2. Though I never actually got a picture of 2 different views of it until now.

Not everyone joins the lobby at the same exact time. so if you joined lobby first and typed 4 lines of text before anyone else joined, they wont see anything.

It said on my friends chat and mine we were both in the game through the join lobby thing. The thing that doesn't make sense, is why do we both see Zengelelele Mid call 3 times, yet on my screen he calls it 3 times but I have my dialogue that I entered in the chat which said we were both connected to inbetween it. Though Bigeyewillie didn't see any of it, but he did see j earlier before HereTheShadow joined.

Oh, im not really sure. I know what i said above is correct, but this situation seems different now that i took another look at it. perhaps their is a syncing issue and it takes a few moments in champ select for everything to line up properly?

Maybe something similar to the load screen, where the load % of each player is different on every other players screen.

Lots of theories, but this has happened to me occasionally over the course of my 6 or so years of playing this game. Just now I wanna see if I can finally see why this is happening.

As already said, players join the lobby in a different order.

You most likely sent all of your chat before they even entered.

It sucks, but that is how it works.

Calling lane in blind is really more of an honor - system, and it really doesn't have any merit. MOST people will accept that you called a lane first so they won't fight you for it. Some won't see that you called it and think they called it first and they will fight you. Others will see that you called it, and they won't care.

You're 130th level. It's pretty unlikely that you don't have enough champions to play Normal matches. If you really care what lane you get, play Normals, otherwise, ... come to terms that it probably won't matter if you called a lane from time to time.

This isn't about whether or not I get my lane or not. It's just about the conflict that goes into this. Everytime this happens there's always a sort of irritating conflict, and no one knows who's right. People get irritated and troll game since then. I think you mistyped your last paragraph too by saying normal twice. I get that, that is what happens, but why did this happen? Copying what I said from a reply earlier. I still dont know why blind pick still doesn let you pick a lane. You rarely get your lane in blind pick and end up on the worst role you are.

They even have the tech - Nexus blitz was blind pick with lane assignment. There's no reason for blinds to have lane picks withing 2-3 patches other than Riot deciding that blind wont ever have lane picking.

Blind pick is intended for new players that don't have enough champions to have their pool banned out completely, and probably don't have established main positions yet.

Each team is able to ban 5 champions, potentially eliminating 10 champions before anyone is able to pick.

If you happen to be the last player to pick a champion, 9 other champions could have been selected.

It's extremely unlikely that the 19 champions picked are all champions that you have, but just in case, you would need to have access to a 20th champion or you simply can't pick anyone.

Blind eliminates this because you could have the same champion as your opponents.

That is literally the whole reason blind pick exists.

That makes logical sense. Personally I think most people play blind though because draft takes like 10 minutes to get into a match then someone ends up dodging last second wasting too much time. Blind lets the matches come by faster. Just something I wanted to say, that's all.

Yeah, and that is fine.

It honestly doesn't even seem like you're really complaining about the fact that you weren't guaranteed to get the role that you are wanting, .. and I apologize that my other comment probably looks like I was giving you grief about, .. but the same thing happens in Draft matches. The fact that you have told the system what position you want, it decides for you and tells you, and the draft process gives plenty of time for your whole team to enter the lobby, all make it so that you don't even notice.

When Riot upgrades to Quantum Servers, we will all just know, .. you know? [zombie-nunu-hearts]

Uh. That does happen, but the same thing doesn't happen in draft with blind? Just look at the images of the chat I sent. Why is my jungle appearing inbetween Zengelelele's Mid calling, but not appearing for Bigeyewillie. That's what i'm questioning.

It does happen in draft. There is an animation time where roles are being visually assigned to players. During this time all of the players are joining the chat lobby.

It is pretty rare that all players haven't joined by the time this animation is completed, but I've seen it happen.

I don't know exactly what you're saying, but what it sounds like to me is that you're telling me the chat is the same and delayed on draft too. I don't quite see why that matters what so ever though because in Draft the role is automatically assigned. I've never had a situation where Draft roles were assigned differently between players, if that's what you're saying. Though other than that all I'm hearing is that the chat has the same issue, which I don't believe has any correlation with Blind because Draft has roles pre-selected.

The issue that you are concerned about is caused by the players' respective ability to connect to the server.

I'm telling you that there is absolutely a chance for players to have a noticeable delay between the time that they connect, and other players connect with the same lobby.

The reason I'm saying that this ALSO happens in Draft is because .. well, it does, .. but you don't notice it because 1. roles are already assigned, so you don't need to call roles, .. and 2. there is a delay in the lobby that allows for the role assignment animation, during which time most players will have connected.

That's very obvious. The thing is that's so unnecessary to say it confused me. That also goes for Ranked, flex, aram. You're not wrong, but if that's the case i see absolutely no reason to even bring up draft lol.

There seemed to have been incompetent comprehensive abilities emitting out of you. To which I forgot of this post after my reply long ago. There is something called draft pick bud. If you want to get your roles go to draft. There are people like me who like to play casually until I reach lvl 30. Without wasting 5 minutes banning/picking champions.

Just accept whatever you get, that's the thing about blind pick. I've only been playing that for a few years without ever touching draft, and it's made me proficient in every role, although I still specialise in jungle and top.

Otherwise, feel free to "troll", people in blind pick are generally quite chill especially with the bot lane shake up. You don't get flamed as much for picking Yi ADC or Ashe support anymore. I had a mid Sona just last game and nobody really cared either.

I mean I already know that, which is why that wasn't what I was asking. I'm trying to understand why this is an issue for years that was never fixed. I can never find anything about this for some reason.
