If you've played him on free week and like playing him? Yes. If you haven't yet? Probably not. Balance shouldn't have a big impact on whether you play a champion or not, especially given even professional players don't play perfectly.

gangplank is very fun to play as critplank and can support his team

if you want a poke based AD champ though, I recommend Corki

Corki has everything this meta needs, is fun, and fairly well balanced overall with a lot of waveclear potential, but he's as vulnerable to crowd control as any other ADC

that's one advantage gangplank has over corki, Sustain and the ability to clear crowd control...he even has a global ult to play with XD

two of your worst nightmares playing as gangplank though are Nasus and Garen...Jayce probably also floats in this boat but he's a rare pick even as a lane bully

This is a tough question, he is getting a middle tier rework soon, so the question is do you want to wait and see how that goes? or do you want to be able to say you played his old version before it?

Having played GP almost exclusively from mid 2013 to mid 2014 or so, I have about a billion thoughts on the guy, none of which I'll go into here.

I'll just leave it that he is, in my eyes, and incredibly situational pick who struggles against the vast majority of champions in the game.

And I'm going to elaborate slightly and say that that is an extremely optimistic point of view.

If I were to be blunt, I would just say he's the worst champion in the game (especially right now since super-tanky dudes are all over the place) but then I would have to go into why, the many reasons of which could fill a novel.

There's a reason they're reworking him. When's the last time he's seen competitive play? 2011?

GP is a blast to play..pun fully intended. Honestly, besides ziggs, I think he's the most actually FUN champ you can play. There is nothing better than a speed jacked GP running around parrrley crit'ing the holy hell out of everyone with statik shiv!

Wait for the rework, he is useless now... but fun.

He's getting a rework to be viable soon enough. He's fun, but so hard to do good with and carry. Gangplank is a case of jack of all trades, master of none.

Don't buy him.....he just died.....
