RIP my love
See ya in 3 seasons when Rito reworks you again.

To think I was almost considering playing the game again. Not with those changes~
As has been pointed out elsewhere, it's (that is, Alignment and the new Starcall) a decent mechanic for getting her to care about landing Starcall more (and not just grabbing Warmog's and parking in the way-backline), but it has some tuning and scaling issues.
If they made it stack in intensity - say by generating one five-second Alignment buff for every enemy champion hit with Starcall - she'd be far more viable in teamfights, and would have even more reason to stay in combat in order to throw that delicious mana and health-over-time (proccing Windspeaker's, remember) around.
I main Soraka. I will miss using heal to try to deny creeps, and to troll adc positioning to get free Qs. Detuning the heal further is sad it's her primary contribution to the team.
She's been nerfed so hard already and the rework was already nerfs.. She is OP because W is on a low cool down and it abuses the new mastery and ardent sensor. How about putting it on a realistic and intended cool down like all the heals and shields in the game so it doesn't super scale with keystone and ardent sensor then give it some real scales, this would make deciding when to use it the interesting decision.
One small voice, please don't break my main, or you aren't getting my money.
damn those w changes are rough.
I wouldn't care that much if it had some nice scaling or something added to it.
But a glorified heal over time? Good luck healing anything with grevious wounds. This is basically a reverse version of Twitch's passive, if only it was really, really bad. And the fact that it gives mana won't save it. That's why she built the way she built in the first place.
Oh, and her new Q is bland, fucking dumb, boring, and devoid of any interesting gameplay interaction, even compared to Sona's Q or her old starcall.
Makes me wonder who will become meta now? Thresh will stay as is(as per usual), but who will take her place?
Another level 5 raka player here, alignment isn't a terrible idea, but it needs work. The AP ratios are too low and restoring mana to other champs is a bad idea due to how it completely goes against riot's choice to remove mana pots.
Honestly, I think it should be like this: She hits starcall and receives 10 - 40% AP + some base health and a bit of mana with a base above her starcall cost. This is healed over 5 - 10 seconds and stacks infinitely (but it's very hard to get past a large number). If she heals her target, they receive a heal as powerful as this patch would be balanced around or a bit less (60% AP I think), and 1/2 - 2x of a starcall heal but not mana is transferred instantly if present. She's encouraged to hit Qs regardless of what she does, but she also has this storage of extra powered heals which give her sustain but she has to give up not only her health, but her sustain to heal others.
In exchange of having more powerful W heals, she no longer has a safe Q heal unless she backs off from her ADC.
Her playstyle would change from Q W W Q W W with careful health management and team health bar awareness to having to consider whether each W is safe while having to be extremely greedy with her Q hits and use it whenever it's off cooldown as they heal is as important as Cassiopeia getting passive stacks from her Q poison on champs.
What bothers me isn't how bad the her self sustain is now, cause you know...counterplay, but seriously with this change her W+Q heal will heal less on her target in total than live soraka while also having a chunk of the heal be overtime. She won't heal even to more health till both q and w are maxed and even then only one person she heals gets the q heal and even if it heals slightly more its over time. How is she supposed to be leagues best healer when her heal is worse than say nami's and she is punished for using it. I find Soraka as obnoxious as the next guy but this doesn't seem fair to soraka at all. Maybe there is something to these changes that makes it work but it looks horrid on paper.
PS Why do some champs seem to get a patch by patch gentle touch while others get these nuclear option changes with the promise "we may get back to it if it turns out to suck".
tank Soraka will still be the most OP support even after these changes, I garentee it
gutting her self heal and aoe range does seem like a pretty heavy gutting knife on her. Hopefully they comp the heals back in some way.

In all honesty as a level 5 soraka player, this looks like buffs compared to her Q range nerf.
Now we get life and mana replenished on Q, which means solo raka is a little more viable and it transfers to the allie when I heal? Thanks you just made up for the shitty Q range nerfs.
Keep on trying riot, it's not gonna stop her being viable.
I"m going to miss the minion heals, It helps when taking towers and harassing enemy laners trying to last hit. I do like the fact that Raka will get back mana from her Q. I wonder will Riot ever make a champion that centers around giving mana to people, that was a truly unique ability Soraka had and no other champion comes close to it.
I will miss my lamb she is my second most played champion
the changes to soraka don't seem that bad.
but an that 4th stack of drag is hot now
Soraka is one of the few champs I've mastered, and let me say that the compensation for her is actually pretty nice, and it's interesting that she's able to give mana to allies again. Besides, if we're being perfectly honest the only time we'd need to heal minions would be with banner of command minions or baron buffed siege minions, Raka not being able to heal minions is almost a buff since you can't misclick on a minion when trying to save your carry anymore.
Remember when Soraka's rework got released? If you go back and look at that post there are a lot of comments that talk about how garbage she'd be, yet here we are. Things often work out differently in practice than on paper. These nerfs aren't actually as bad as they look on paper, and I for one am still going to play the Banana lady and show off my mastery every time I do something stupid with her.
the previous Q nerf make
mid very difficult now Q.Q
Congratulations Riot you have officially and successfully made a champion more useless then a caster minion. Can I get a red to delete my soraka 5 mastery I don't want to be reminded every time I open my profile of what you have done to her.
I think this is a very eloquent resolution to the current issues with playing against a Soraka in the lane phase. On live her heal is simply too efficient. Early game she is healing allies for close to %20 of their total hp at a very negligible health cost. She is allowed to simply sit back behind her adc, out of range of both opposing players. Without a very long range lane (Cait, blitz, etc.) the opposing team doesn't even really interact with Soraka. This is the big issue I have with her current design. The PBE design directly improves this interaction. Soraka has to make a real decision. If she heals her ally she pays with health that she can't instantly recover. This creates a window of opportunity for the opposing laners. I love the design for Soraka to be the elite league of legends healer but it can't be at the cost of player interaction.
This only buffs soraka's ability to sit in the backline while occasionally coming for air to hit a q. I can't see how riot doesn't notice this only encourages passive play. Interactive raka's will be dead raka's, dead raka's with shitty heals cuz they built tank because with these changes obviously. Also, hitting minions or getting heals from multiple champs was fun. I can't see why they would take that away from her.
You're talking about that?
The important issue is this:
: E - Test of Spirit
Mana Cost decreased from 35/45/55/65/75 to 35/40/45/50/55.
AD Offtank Support Illaoi is now that much easier for me :3
lmao what if anything this INCREASES her sustain ability
What hurts me the most is she can no longer heal minions. RIP semidecent

Between the nerfs, rework, and new nerfs to
, Riot is really getting my goat.
But, bad jokes aside, people complained the pre-rework Soraka, whose kit was about long-term healing and extended team fights, was cancer and anti-fun, so she was nerfed and subsequently reworked her into her current burst heal/poke kit that people still complain is cancer and anti-fun, bringing about this new round of nerfs. But if Soraka is going to be called cancer and anti-fun regardless, why can't we have her previous kit restored?
By the way, calling something cancer and anti-fun does not make a real statement about any champion, but reveals something about the player who can't figure out that champion's weaknesses, or just stubbornly picks a champion into something that counters it, gets outplayed, then begs for the winning champion to be crippled rather than adapting or acknowledging the outplay. Because, at its core, losing is anti-fun, this is only half the story, as the winner had fun, so fun and anti-fun cancel each other out, thus fun is not a valuable tool to gauge a champion's need for a nerf/rework.
