Cleanse and Ignite

Hi, i have a question: I tried to use ignite for kill a player with the damage over time, he used Cleanse and removed the damage over time of the Ignite, but not the Healing Reduction. Imo this is absolutely wrong, i mean, Cleanse "removes most crowd controls and some summoner spell debuffs", the damage over time is not a debuff, is just a DoT, it's just some damage. The debuff of Ignite is the Healing Reduction. So why make Cleanse remove the damage but not the healing reduction? I think this is a mistake, it should be the opposite. Can you tell me something about it?

All disables and summoner spell debuffs.

A DoT that isn't an AoE is always a debuff. As the DoT is not AoE, it's going to have to be a debuff. Ignite applies two debuffs, GW and the burn.

I assume it doesn't remove the GW because it's removing "Ignite" (the DoT), and not GW. As far as I'm aware, for Riot to make it remove the GW from ignite without removing other sources of GW they'd have to combine the two, but that opens up the issue of double GW being possible...

I think ur reasoning is a bit off. Or at least what I’m understanding from ur explanation. The way it sounds to me from ur explanation is that cleanse will remove 1 instance of CC/debuff... which isn’t the case. You can be exhausted, ignited and charmed and cleanse them all in one go. But anyways, Cleanse just flat out doesn’t remove Grievous Wounds.

Yeah. I'm saying that happens because the GW isn't attached to the ignite debuff itself. As GW is not a disable and not directly attached to a summoner spell debuff, it's not removed.
