Please tell me I'm not alone on this one. Literally, all the games I played I did really well. With either 5 or more kills and less deaths with a fighter, or lots of assists when I support. Seriously riot, this really demotivated me . I was in SILVER, at least SILVER last season. Why put me in BRONZE 5? What happened to your "NEW" improvements? Its so sad. I was expecting to be at least in SILVER 5 or 4, but BRONZE? BRONZE 5? Can you guys do something about this??
LF Annie1 votesi would say its because of your mmr. it says you play with ppl lower than you to begin with, then goes down with the reset, putting you at the bottom.

Does that mean a master who lost all 10 of their placements wouldn't be able to drop below say gold? or is it more dynamic than that?

Well, for Master and Challenger tier things are even more complicated. The absolute best ANY ONE can place is plat 1. No one starts the season in diamond. If a master tier player with 2800 MMR previously started his placements he'd start them at roughly 2000 MMR, or the border between plat 1 and diamond 5. If he lost every single match he would lose some of that MMR and drop down to mid plat levels and that's what his ranking would be displayed as upon completion of those 10 matches. If he goes even or better, he's placing in plat 1. Even if he were to win all 10 and gain about 250 MMR for 2250 after all 10 placements for mid diamondish MMR he would STILL be placed in plat 1 because that's the cutoff. The really cool thing for these players though is that while they will generally all place in plat 1, their MMR will be much higher than that. So high in fact they might be getting as much as 35 or even 40 LP per win to start the season! This of course affects only about 2000 total players so its not something that will matter for most of us. I did have an account that finished master tier for season 4 and after placements I was getting 30-35 LP per win which I thought was really cool.

Harem Sensei1 votesEyyy same ;) went 8-2, But it makes sense this is my smurf that i never took the time to climb with and it was at like bronze 3. Your placements heavily take into account last seasons rankings, Also just because you were in silver doesn't meant that you have a silver ranking mmr [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
