how is it possible that me a season 7 silver player who won 7 matches and lost 3 in my placements ended up in iron 1 whereas another noob player who has never played ranked games in his life and lost 7 games and won 3 ended up in bronze 4 ? . don't even get me started with what happened to Corejj who won all his placement matches with a new account and he ended up in iron 1 , i have a good winrate as well , are you kidding me?

Yeah the placement divisions are ridiculous this season everyone was placed lower than they dhould be, and they made brand new accounts played with high silver-low gold and be placed around there or lower and me, being hardstuck silverlord since forever got placed bronze 2. It wasn't a big deal for me personally cuz I just climbed up to s3 but still you get my point.

they keep the best win rates a low rank on new accounts to keep the one-sided stomp matches going strong

It's to give players more engagement with the ranking process, in my opinion. Also to get you playing longer haha

They probably measure how much time a player is one the game: Someone with a large amount of playtime, originally at a much higher rank, would get placed lower than someone with a low amount of play time, originally at a lower rank. Just my opinion
