can someone help me understand MMR a little better? i have 61% win ratio in ranked on silver, i am a s2 player and i have a 71% win ratio with wu jungle over 70 games, but whenever i win i get 17,18 maybe 20 LP which makes it hard to climb even tho i have a high win ratio, i played against a G2 player a couple of games ago and won and still got 18 LP, what can i do to get better MMR?

Keep winning. Once your MMR climbs above that of your division's average, your LP gains will increase.

When did you start getting this this win ratio? Is it recent?

Your MMR decides the range of players you can play with, then it decides how much LP you gain/losing in a win loss. If you're matched up with players that have a lower MMR then you, you will gain very little LP for a win and if you're matched up with players with higher MMR you will gain a lot for a win. The problem you're having is people that are at the higher end of you MMR in Silver 1-Gold4 aren't quing, but people on the lower end of your MMR S4-3 are quing up a ton. So you're getting placed in games towards the middle/lower end of your MMR.

You think getting 17-18 for a win is bad try getting +13 vs -22 in a Silver 4 game because you're on a 12 game win streak. I literally had 6 wins and 4 losses after my 12 game win streak and like was -4 LP lol.

Also, i'm confident that you didn't actually play anyone in G2 and it's just someone with a copy cat name.
