With the assassin update im curious which non assassin champion will do good Mid. I havnt tried many yet but im guessing the ones with high burst damage and high moblility champs are really doing well like Yasuo,fizz,talon,rengar and kata. (not zed tho idk y) Im bored of playing the same champsmid again and again can u guys suggest any good picks? (no troll plz) i tried teemo xD won the lane [slayer-jinx-wink]
i generally play mid but i dont think they r good picks this season. Any suggestions?

Also how do i counter fizz mid? ;P i got stomped by him when i was 3/0 to 9/6 late game and lost the game [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Talon is good mid (obviously). I want to try Evelynn mid to see if she can finally (yet slowly) move out of the jg, With talon you wanna pick up W first, then Q. W>Q>E>R

Anti-assassins like Malzahar or Lissandra should be strong.

I like Ahri in every one of those matchups - like you said high burst and mobility works well. She does well against Zed too. Then again, Ahri is pretty much the only mid I've ever consistently played so I'm heavily biased there - what I'd take from it is that if you're practiced on Ahri she can hold her own against almost anyone (I have had problems with Malzahar, Annie, and Diana back in season 5, haven't played those matchups since).

Long range mages also typically manage their own against assassins. Their immobility means that a positioning mistake could spell death, but if they're well positioned they can chunk the assassin while laning pretty easily. Stay out of range and farm with spells means the assassin can't really do anything in lane other than roam - keep up side vision and he'll be pretty much useless. So Lux, Xerath, Twisted Fate, and co. all probably manage well.

I think Anivia, Swain, Orianna, Cassio, Vlad, Ziggs, etc... are all also okay/favored in matchups against assassins.

to beat fizz i usally take annie mid keep passive up and he cant go in on u and if u want to be aggresive just stun him b4 he can e and unload on his fishy ass. Malz will always be good into assassins as well

The meta picks are still mages. Vik, Syndra, Ryze, etc. Nothing has really changed. Now is a really good time to abuse the Syndra freelo train actually, with everyone banning assassins and all.

syndra, viktor, ryze, cass, vlad, fizz can be countered by harassing early and dodging his shark when he all ins. A maw or abyssals goes a long way too
