Long Time Player, Rito made us Leave

ForbiddenBandit··73 votes·4,011 views

Hey there, I've enjoyed this game since season 1. But as of now the situation of the game is incredibly snowbally (remember that random ass turret nerf so now they're free bags of gold to help snowballing) and not enjoyable. It's making the community more toxic and no one wanted the reworks rito made. In addition to that all the new champs are all mini game champs and i don't really feel like playing mario party. Also everyone build paths have been made identical and low risk/ high reward mobility champs like yas, fizz, yi, etc... have seemingly no weak points when built tank. High mobility tanks are op and rito just keeps buffing tank items they like. As a long time player the game has lost it's luster and I will no longer be playing.

and another toxic phack on the board now even the toxic player base of league as reach every single root lololol good job rito nice community.

Nahui3 votes

Not my fault he is being toxic to Riot. you want to leave, fine. Don't make some post whining about it on the boards claiming League is something subjectively in your point of view.

Don't like the game, leave. Put don't cry on the boards. Riot won't look at the post and be like "We fucked up." They're simply going to say "There goes one, in come 5 more."

Zendaya Stan11 votes

U are part of the problem that makes other people leave the game...

FiddlesOnTheRoof2 votes

Actually, league saw it's fist DECREASE ever in hours played last month. I was defending it at first too, but this season is miserable. Assassin tanks are ruining it.

Nahui1 votes

And does this worry Riot? Not quite, as they can simply change and manipulate factors within a couple of weeks to fix errors should they choose to. Again, making a public post about you leaving is 100% pointless. Riot will not look and say "He's right, we need to change." No one is going to look and say "Hey, he's right, I'm leaving too." as his decision to leave wouldn't be the reason you did. I support constructive, proactive board posts. I like when champions are talked about, when concepts are shared, when balance is discussed. When various skins are discussed, when esports is the topic and opinions on things. Not "I'm quitting and here's why." What did I get out of that? What did anyone get out of that? To the few people that actually cared to click on the post just to read the same BS every player repeats, very little chime in their support. And even then, why?

FiddlesOnTheRoof1 votes

While I do understand what you're saying, and the amount of negativity on the boards is depressing, people getting vocal about what they don't like is the only way things change. In my opinion, this season is the least fun season to date- by far. I know some players disagree with me. I also know that many, many, MANY players feel the same way. The only way things change is if Riot knows we're unsatisfied, and wan't the game to change. While each individual post may be pointless, the cumulative effect is what those of us who want our favorite game back are hoping will affect change. I play this game half as often as I did two seasons ago. I want them to make it fun again. These "pointless"posts saying that players are leaving are the first step towards that becoming reality. Or nothing changes, and those of us that are thinking about leaving will be out of your hair and off the boards soon enough. In the mean time, while the dust settles from this MYMU, I'll be Overwatch'in it up.

Nahui1 votes

I understand even voicing negativity to what you don't like. I like those posts. They're constructive and can have a great conversation. It's when you go "I quit and here's why.." that's useless. You're not voicing your opinion for the purpose of constructive criticism, you're just bashing the game in one last hoorah for attention. That doesn't help anyone. The difference between "I'm quitting because all season 6 is tank assassins, GG Riot you ruined it for me" and "Riot, I really don't like how season 6 revolves around tank assassins and Champion X, Y, Z" is the fact that one is inviting conversation and debates, the other is just "Fuck you, I'm out and here's why."

i am giving a go for Overwatch, i am in the same situation than you, i know its feel weird but you should know that there is more peoples like us who can relate to this and have been playing since season 1 now we can go in peace league is dead.

FiddlesOnTheRoof2 votes

I'm with you. Been playing since season 2. This season is the low point in league's life span. Tanks leading the game in damage consistently...snow balling at its max... I'm not quitting, but I'm definitely dialing my playing hours significantly in favor of Overwatch.

It's bad when I talk with people who I used to play with almost every day and we reminisce about the good ole days of league. I have enjoyed some of the changes that they have made but for the most part I just keep missing the days when league wasn't as crazy. They keep introducing all these crazy new ideas that don't really solve any problems but rather create a ton of new ones. The new items, masteries, and champion changes that ruin champs that I've played since they've come out have just left me feeling like I don't even know the game anymore. I've been playing for about 5 years and I'm almost plat, but I think it's time that I find a new game as well. Its just not the game that I remember or love....

Oelyk3 votes

Remember last patch... and everyone was complaining a ton and threatening to quit about something I cant even remember what it was?

Remember when they added a warding limit? and everyone hated it because no one would ward or use trinket?

Remember when towerdiving with two people top always resulted in a double kill?

Remember when Jax was the top ban? Morgana was the top ban? Blitzcrank was the top ban? Zed was the top ban? Fizz was the top ban? Lucian was the top ban? Ekko was the top ban?(if you don't I'll spank you) Juggernauts were the top ban? Amumu was top ban? Graves was top ban? Kalista was top ban? Nidalee was top ban? Hecarim(top) was top ban? Leblanc? Leesin? Xin Zhao? Yasou?

My memory blows(Since spirit guard Udyr player) but a lot of shit went down and people kept playing, I could go on all day, but Im just gonna say only people who truly love league of legends will hunker down and find a way to deal with the issues and appreciate all the ways riot is trying to keep the game fresh and new like rotating gamemodes. I love you Riot. Thank you for a great game that deprives me of sleep. Worth.

Vanjie7 votes

I only play league once or twice a week now. I don't play as much as I did before. This entire season and event he decision making towards the end of 2015 is very bad. Riot games is a shadow of it self. The problem is overworked champions with kits that have everything in it. Yi has a heal, a dodge, a speed up ability, increased damage. Ekko has a dodge, a heal, a slow, and much more. Zed has a dodge, broken ultimate that can no longer be cleansed, range, a get away, and much more. Garen has heals, a speed up ability, a one hit ult, a passive that does more damage to specific champions, and a silence.

Are we noticing a trend here? The problem are the questionable kit decisions and unbalanced abilities. The items are also a problem.

Rant post.

Yeah, the game changed from season 1. Riot says over and over that they want LoL to be an ever changing game.

Just leave already. Riot didn't MAKE YOU do anything.

Why can't you people just leave in silence? You "parting letters" are pathetic.

You spend 5-6 years involved in something and see it get completely reworked and lose a lot of what made it great.

Riot also says they want this to be an e-sport and a 'way of life'.

Older players (myself included) take issue with a lot of these big changes and are leaving in droves, so it matters. If people don't want to stay because they keep messing with what works. then they have a problem

Kapppaccino5 votes

i think its mostly them oversimplifying the game. back when mechanics and game knowledge mattered, was when it was most fun. They want to appeal to casuals so they removed the difficulty of things like timing combos, jungle clearing, buff timers, stutter steppping.....they made the game so fucking noob friendly, its a disgrace.

chessman4 votes

It's about eliminating unnecessary difficulty and clunky mechanics. The difficulties of the game should be related the game itself, not the UI and how much bookkeeping you put the effort into doing (ie. jungle timers).

Elikain6 votes

What Riot is trying to do is put every player in the same boat - your experience comes from game knowledge, mechanical skill with a champion and decision making. That's something they feel it's paramount to keep as this is proof of your overall skill a a player.

What they did was eliminate every other secondary system that was additionally complicating the learning process, like learning the language of the League itself - the use of chat abbreviations and timing camps that came out of good habbit. So, we've came to Smart Pings and Jungle Timers. They also cleaned up UI in order to clearly indicate what is happening on your screen and did the same for champions and effects. They've cut Leveling by half, to make sure new players don't spend an eternity leveling their accounts, both T2 and T3 runes are super cheap and who knows what other kinds of optimizations they can make in the future.

Quite frankly, i feel League is becoming very receptive of new-ish players, not just pampering the old timers like myself (7 years and counting) who are used to heavy grinding for a single 6300 IP champion that was coming out, still not having a single rune under my belt.

##This is something i do enjoy seeing and i like that Riot is trying to reach out to more players of various skill levels and gaming backgrounds. ##This isn't just my game, this should be everyone's game.

[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Kapppaccino2 votes

Its not pampering to old players, its embracing the game for what it is. Sure, visual clean ups are nice, but not lowering the games difficulty. The jungle monsters shouldnt be something you can afk to and still do well. Kiting the camps, and animation canceling used to be mechanics needed to jungle if you didnt want to die after 1 clear. Now theres nothing to jungle but deciding who to gank. The removal of wards makes it too easy for anyone to roam, and the items are pretty much shoved down youre throat. Ex: auto adc? IE , ad assasin? Youmous. Etc New people coming to league should actually learn the game instead of bitching that its too hard and have it made easier for them. Theyre the ones being pampered.

Atanchan1 votes

I feel like you would like DOTA 2, except they made tower ranges visible and you can press alt to see jungle spawn boxes so maybe that's too "kiddie" for you as well.

Still have to click on a guy to see their mana %, though, for ... some reason.

Kapppaccino1 votes

I tried dota and i like the learning curve, but i shouldnt have to abandon league because of a few bad decisions by riot. The thing is, MOBAS used to attract 17+ people, who were seen as super nerds for playing these games ( think WoW , youd make fun of kids who played WoW while you and yourr friends played CoD or Street Fighter. Reason being the games were really hard to get into because of the difficulty. Now everyones jumping on the moba bandwagon because of esports and the games themselves are forcefully being changed to appeal to people of all ages and genres.) Im not saying league is dead, but it did lose its touch as a moba. At this point its almost an arcade action game.

Atanchan1 votes

I get your point, but you're going to have to explain to me the point of it.

Kapppaccino1 votes

The point of what?

Atanchan1 votes

The point of your point.

Kapppaccino1 votes

my point is to voice my opinion as to why i dislike riots poor decision making. im not trying to get others to quit or make a big deal saying im quitting league. i just voiced my opinion so riot can know why someone like myself feel discontent with the game. in other words, feedback. maybe theyll reconsider the direction leagues going (doubt it tho) and make the game what it once was.

Atanchan1 votes

Well, no, I get that. I just don't get the point of being an elitist when it comes to video games.

Kapppaccino2 votes

because mobas are meant to be competitive games, not casual games. as someone who loves competitive play, i hate seeing it dumbed down for the sake of attracting casuals

Atanchan1 votes

That's not what you said at all.

Well, looking at it, you actually said two different things while proving that you haven't even heard of those games you've mentioned at all. Since when was there any MMORPG that was harder than Street Fighter? Especially considering your example was WoW of all things.

Atanchan1 votes

I don't think you've ever actually seen a fighting game be played.

Elikain1 votes

Riot isn't making the game any easier. Riot is easing the transition and the beginning learning curve of newer players while it doesn't affect us old dogs one bit. We know these things already. We don't need to get back to the basics. Having more and more champions be able to jungle is for the sake of diversity and because of it, the jungle needs to be tailored to be just the right amount of hard for everyone.

Kapppaccino1 votes

so the new global buff timers arent making it easier to invade/steal? dynamic que doesnt make ranking up easier? riot is spoonfeeding players basic game information at this point and allowing everyone to reach gold super easy. maybe it does take awhile for a player to learn the game, but why does that have to be a bad thing? why should a new player come into a new genre of game and be successful with little to no effort? also, u can have jungle diversity without making the camps a joke. they can creat jungle items to help certain champions! this is why theres always superior junglers in every meta, because the ones who were good clearers suddenly become even better because riot decides to make camps weakers so others can jungle as well. this results in variety, but then the handful of op junglers which end up being nerfed because of it.

Elikain1 votes

You're talking about imbalances in the game environment and they will always exist. That's why League has 2 week patch cycles.

Your point about global buff timers is the same as jungle timers for me VS jungle timers for everyone. People who never used this information won't find it useful, and will learn in the future how to use it. People who already use this information will find this addition useful and not changing how they play the game.

And players being successful from the start of the game? That won't happen. You can't hit easy Gold if you're a new player, fresh off the leveling table. I started Owerwatch today and despite me playing FPS games in the past, most notably CS, i still have a lot to learn which hero is good in which situation and how to counter enemy team comps.

How do I mute you? Since reading this before I realize it's you is a waste of my time. My time is the only time that matters, btw. Idga about your time. So don't waste mine telling me about it.

Ignored from this point, since you seem to be a troll attempting to bait flames. And my time is too important for that childishness. Nevermind, not a troll. a wow virgin it sounds more like. As i said before, go blow ben brode if you like it so much lol. Either way I am done with you now wow kid.

Never said I liked WoW, again facts aren't your strong suit though. Not baiting anything, I just simply state the blunt truth. Sorry you just opened up to the real world where no one cares about you and the only time that matters is mine, not yours. :)

But as of now the situation of the game is incredibly snowbally

Thank the community for that, they hated how long games lasted, Riot gave them what they wanted, they immediately regretted it.

Also, check the patch notes, you're about to see the game slow WAY down.

no one wanted the reworks rito made

Agree to disagree, I've liked just about all of them, they grant healthier gameplay while still hitting the thematic of the champ.

In addition to that all the new champs are all mini game champs

AurelionSol Nope Bard Nope Illaoi Nope Jhin Nope Kindred Nope TahmKench Nope RekSai Nope

Also everyone build paths have been made identical

ಠ_ಠ Whachu talking about?!? No really, I've not seen any thing to suggest this.

low risk/ high reward mobility champs like yas, fizz, yi, etc... have seemingly no weak points when built tank

You mean besides having no damage?

High mobility tanks are op and rito just keeps buffing tank items they like.

Is this why pretty much every tank item has gotten nerfed in the past two years?

Civet101 votes

I agree with what you're saying, but aurelion and bards passives are definitely minigames :P

The Deckowner1 votes

kindred and reksai also have the hide and seek kinda style

RichardHenri1 votes

And Illaoi's fucking tentacles.

Civet101 votes

The tentacles i'd say arent a minigame, as it doesnt really need any interactions, just affects decision-making a bit, compared to bard passive where you have to decide when to leave lane, and go around the map gathering things, or draven axes

Nahui1 votes

Sol's passive isn't a mini game. It's simply a DOT passive. Hit em with your balls, just like Diana's shield. Kindred has a mini game as well as Bard with objectives than everyone else's, but Sol's is just a basic skill. Him em with the balls of light. Not like you're playing a different game than the rest.

Diamond 2

no. 1 best vlad USA 2014; 4th best vlad worlds 2014

Played from 2011 to 2016

Uninstalled 5/3/2016

LoL is finished. This update clearly exemplifies the fact that they take absolutely no consideration into their updates before installing them. The passionate creators of League of Legends have all been discharged via staff turnover over time and now none of the original, developer staff exist anymore. They're all people who bought and inherited a game(and in this case a cash cow) and don't give two craps about it. Spellvamp champions OP? remove WOTA and give Spellvamp to all MANA mages. And unlimited mana because that mana bar is just a blue cosmetic attribute and not a resource to monitor and manage.

League is done for, and to be stupid enough to release an update to the game like this, there's no way in hell Riot will actually rectify it. It's the same as if your president was a retard and bombed Moscow. You're not going to expect the same president to be able to rectify this. Even with an apology and public execution by suicide it's the end of your country 'cause Putin doesn't mess around, and the legit players of League are like Putin. We're done with this Neo-Rito.

tooomine3 votes

cool. go to Dota 2, man. I hear its very well balanced and in some aspects, years ahead of LoL

Çhåryzård3 votes

I feel like games are over much quicker and very once sided. Teams snowball. The same team keeps getting objectives and dragons and you have no chance of actually fighting back. Some champs get fed pretty easily then 1v5 the your team..
