How do you play Jhin / How to be good with him?

Yesterday I bought Jhin for 6300IP. I was super psyched to finally play him, but wasnt confident enough, so I tried a bot match. ... ... ... It was almost as hard as a normal pvp game (yes, I know... I'm bad). I thought to myself: "Eh, it's my first game 7/3 against bots isn't THAT bad." Tried another game. Nothing changed. I did a bit better with 10/2, but I had to heavily rely on my teammates to help me, because I just couldn't 1v1 a bot. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] My bouncing bombs didn't seem to do much damage even if I killed one or two minions with it. The minion could have like 1/4 of his health and the bomb still didn't kill him, it bounced and didn't kill the second one etc. The flower traps (forgot the name) didn't seem to do any damage either. I mean I had to: -put down a trap -hope the bot walks over it -use Deadly Flourish to stun him (get the hell out of there if I missed) -empty my 4 bullet gun and use my ult The enemy champ would then be dead or somewhere around 1/5 of his health (unless it was a tank, then I was f*cked) The only time that I did some damage was with the 4th shot. I bought Essence Reaver, Berserker Greaves, Rapid Firecannon and was building Phantom Dancer (the match was over before I could finish it). I've watched like 4-5 videos on Jhin, read some guides, but that didn't help... Did I miss a Jhin nerf or something? I mean in the videos that I watched, people were 3-4 shotting real players, while I took maybe half of a bot's health with every skill except the ulti... Before I bought Jhin, I was thinking about buying Ekko, but everybody kept telling me that Ekko isn't good anymore. Now I kinda wish I bought him instead, because at least I did decently good with him when he was free. Pls help, I really like Jhin, I like his playstyle and I want to get good with him. Should I just play more games with Jhin to get a "feeling" for him or am I hopeless? :P

jhin my man is a utility based adc and no u really cant do much alone til late game. If u play him prepare to be dived like theres no tomorrow. He melts if u get in his face. Late game though he is a monster once u get 3 items on him he can melt the whole team. He has to be played to his strengths which is his extreme range. using your traps is tricky i mainly use them to cover my flanks in lane( the slow helps to aviod ganks) later in teamfights u can drop them in the middle of the fight and they will do some good damage but i feel like they are mainly a zoning anti gank tool.Dont be afraid to ulti into a fight thats is already started nor be afraid to start a fight from long range with your ulti. Most ppl think of it as just an execute which is fine in laning phase but not for teamfighting.I cant tell u how many teamfights ive won being 1500 range away and ulting at the start of the fight ur going to chunk ppl if u dont miss the shots. As far as early game laning goes just try to last hit with your first 3 bullets and when your fourth is up try to get a trade on the enemy adc if u cant 90% of the time they will back off cause that crit damage is good even at level 1. Even though i play jhin pretty well,he does not fair well in every team comp if they play an assassin, i wont play him if they have a lot of gap closers dont play him. dont play him if your team doenst have 2 tanks or some really good peel. remeber to that when u ulti its a dead giveaway to ur location and have had players wait til i ulti and then flash gap close to kill u while ur shooting and most times u cant see them til ur almost dead

You should play more matches with Jhin, he's great once you get used to him. Plus, an infinity edge is core if you want to do tons of damage like that.

I personally like to run Crit damage runes on him, so I can two shot anyone that isn't a tank in the late game.

I would say it comes down to build order on Jhin.

The item build I like best on him is Essence Reaver, Boots of Swiftness(Greaves do not help much on jhin beyond reload speed, and movement speed in REALLY nice for chasing), Into Stattik, into IE, then either into A LW item or of they are not building armor into a BT.

Jhin is really dependent on his teammates to protect him while he puts out damage.

#UKQuestions

Here, buy Jhin, select him in champion select. You will be Jhin in game then you can play him. Any other questions?

Jhin is a very high-skill ADC. Arguably one of the hardest. Your grenades won't be doing much damage in early, unless they hit the enemy champion on the last bounce.

Focus on farming and getting used to the damage your autos do, and only use the Q to farm when multiple minions are low health. Farming frequently with Q is very mana-expensive, which is bad. Something I like to do is target a higher health minion (while still low) with the Q when my fourth shot is up, because then my fourth shot will immediately fire afterwards to finish off that first target, while the bounces should handle the other targets.

The W is all about utility. Most times, you won't be the one to proc the mark, your allies will, and that's fine.

Don't focus all about using your E for just damage. They can be used as mini-wards as well as for the slow itself, you can chuck them into the middle of an on-going teamfight where people can't really just run off away from it, or you can throw it behind you for warnings/peel while you're pushing if you need to escape.

Your ult scales off missing health and it can be bodyblocked, so keep that in mind. Your ult does refund % CDs for unused shots, so you don't have to always use all four shots either. Shooting off just 2, or even just 1, and then entering in a movement command (mouse click) to break the ult can catch a lot of people off guard. Until you get into late game where you'll do a hefty bit of damage, your ult won't really do much except finishing off low-health stragglers. Towards late game, you can open up with the ult and try to smash through their ADC, forcing them to back off. This can be very helpful in a teamfight.

Ghostblade -> Duskblade is extremely meh, and is good against tankier teams, but the general crit build is far better in just about every case including that as well. The standard crit build being IE -> Usually Swifty's but Berserker's ain't bad too if you're ahead -> ER usually -> RFC -> Shiv/other crit items -> GA if you need it/etc.

Standard runes would be Armor Pen, MR, Armor, and AD quints.
