What's up with Ekko?

Ekko has been my main since the day he got released. I've been around with him even when the whole Tankko shit happened. And people have always been shitting on him. He's the only champ I do well with (Yasuo is maybe a close second). And I've seen people like Faker or Bjergsen use him quite a lot. Why do people still say he's awful even after the mini rework and buffs on his scaling???
