i'm done with this game. This crap is for the birds. Uninstalling good luck

I know this game is highly popular so I wanted to try it but I seriously don't get why so many people like this game.

Keep in mind I've won 13 of my last 17 games so it isn't like I don't know how to play and win. Took 20 or 30 games playing around with different items to buy but eventually figured it out. The reason I won so many is because I feel I know how to out strategize most of the other teams. They get into this one lane mindset often times late games which leaves serious holes in their defenses.

So what are my biggest quarrels and why I'm uninstalling?

  1. Melee in this game all have the same range as ranged heroes.

I mean seriously what a joke. I'm being pulled and spears are thrown at me, daggers and teleported on so much it's absolute crap. Ranged heroes do NOT out range melee in this game. They both have the SAME range which has gotta be the dumbest thing I think I've ever seen in a game ever in the history of gaming.

Just one example is Pantheon who can block one attack and has a ranged throw.... well gee lets figure this one out.

I'm a ranged hero, I get in range of this melee hero Pantheon. We both throw out our ranged attacks simultaneously. My attack gets blocked, his attack hits. He retreats and rinse and repeat when cooldowns are off. WOW!

There's so many of these kinds of crap tactics from so many of the melee heroes I wonder why anyone plays ranged at all. Keep in mind I don't own Vayne which seems to be the most whined about ranged hero right now.

Another example is that I once qued up my blind on Wukong with Teemo and before my blind can even hit him he teleports in on me, no blind hits him, and sure enough he starts his stupid spin to win crap and I'm dead.

Yep 100% garbage balance in ranged vs melee in this game. If there were no other reasons I would uninstall just because of this terrible imbalance of melee heroes in this game.

I have a machine gun.

You have a staff.

Why do we have the same range?

  1. Heroes die way too fast

There's almost no option for countering in this game. You can pick apart, or get picked apart, in a mere second or two giving no option for counter attack. This makes for horrid game play for me. I prefer a game where you can at least get a chance to counter an attack. Not get dashed on and 2-3 hits later ur staring at a grey screen.

This isn't very fun for me being on the receiving or giving end. I like to feel a sense of satisfaction in killing someone. Popping from stealth, hitting Q, and auto attacking 4 or 5 times times for a kill doesn't feel satisfying at all.

  1. You don't have to kill the nexus to win

Simply taking down 2 inhibitors is 99.9999999% game over. Winions are way too strong if you ask me. This is where most games just get conceded. I don't really feel a sense of satisfaction of winning when all I did was take out a couple of inhibitors. Winions are so strong it's utterly stupid to even attempt to go for the nexus if you are in an evenly matched game. Just go for all the inhibitors and it's game over.

  1. Many people I've played with are horrid

I don't think I've seen a bigger amount of whiners and complainers ever. I picked a hero they don't like, I'm getting reported? I'm laning a lane they don't like, I'm getting reported? I was eating after picking my hero and wasn't typing, I'm getting reported?

Good god. It's like gaming with a bunch of 10 year olds all day that whine and complain constantly. Of course not every team was like this but enough to bring it up.

  1. Did I mention how stupidly OP melee are?

Ranged attack, bam 50% health gone. Teleport, stun, hit, dead. KMA Riot. I can the developers of this game got kited a lot in other games and wanted to just dash in on ranged heroes and pwn face. It's like they are taking out their rage of years of being kited on in other games in this game.

  1. I don't feel a sense of satisfaction in winning

There's too much PvE content. The game feels like 80% PvE content... killing minions, killing monsters, killing turrets... and like 20% of the time you PvP. So people who run around and do some PvE get buffs and gold and get geared up and now they can PvP stronger than me? Blech.

I played a game called Bloodline Champions for years. That was the most pure and fun PvP game I may have ever played. 3on3, PvP, no PvE, no minions, no monsters, no turrets. Last team standing wins. Now THAT game was great fun, till it died.

Many of my wins came from the simple fact we could kill minions and turrets faster than the other team. I didn't feel a sense of satisfaction for winning at all.

So those are reasons for uninstall. Figured I'd leave the message here for anyone interested. Not looking for sympathy and none of these things will probably get fixed or changed either.

So good luck to those of you who do like this stuff but I wouldn't touch this game with a 10 foot pole the way it sits. I beta tested many many games over the years including Anarchy Online, Dark Ages of Camelot, World of Warcaft just to name a few.... and I can tell you if this is how the game was in beta and I were there I would have left a mouthful of the devs.

"I feel like I know how to out strategize the enemy team on almost all occasions."

"I play Teemo against Wukong."

Good strats there bud. If the game were like you seem to want it...melee would be obsolete. AD carries are in the game to siege towers to win games.

They also need protected, because they are generally immobile, and rely on teammates to peel enemies off of them. Every champion can do things a certain way, and if you don't have a way to deal with that by yourself or as a team, then that's your loss. I really don't think you can consider 20-30 games having mastered the game. Have you watched any videos? Have you asked for suggestions on how to play around these things you're having problems with?

The only complaint of yours I can see having the slightest shred of merit is the community IS terrible. Worst I've ever seen, and I've been playing games for the past 18 years. It is something I would like to see improved on, but that's for another thread.

I would highly discourage you to drop the game based on such little experience. You'll learn some comfort champions. For example, one of my strongest champions is Diana, and even though I know there are some really unfavorable matchups for me, I know how to play around it to give myself the best chance possible.

I would encourage you to go watch some pro LCS matches. I just got back from watching the NA finals live in New York... was awesome! In any case there is a reason why in the past few pro matches there have been several pentakills (one player killing everyone on the enemy team) and they ALL game from ranged AD carries. Ranged ADCs are arguably the most powerful characters in the game... BUT don't expect to do it solo and not right away. You need help LOTS OF IT! You need to build power and rely on your team. This is a team game. But a good team will peal for you (basically stuns/snares/kills that Melee champ that wants to get to you), shield you, heal you, and just keep you alive. Meanwhile you are free to deal out 'tons of damage' (TM) at range to anyone in reach. Late game you will be 2 shotting that yi before he is anywhere close.

Also there are many different types of melee characters. Yes a Yi can 2 shot ppl but he is a glass cannon just like you. A pure tank like Leona can stun you all day but (unless very fed) probably wont do that much damage. Recognizing how every single champ in the game plays, and how to play against it, is a key to mastering League of Legends. Every single champ has unique skills and play-styles. Every single champ can be a huge threat if fed. Every single champ can carry a game.

And to another point about champs dieing too fast... I mean yes if you get caught out of position you will. But if you are with your team (and your team is good), have proper vision with wards and such, and you position well, you shouldn't. I have seen fights in LCS that last MINUTES... with people dieing... respawning... and coming back to rejoin the fight as it is STILL going on.

I would watch some steams on twitch or some pro matches. :-) They will show you how the game CAN be played if you get good enough :-)

See you around, ~David
