Personally I like the new season.

One thing I really disliked about the past 2 seasons, is how it became a "one-shot" meta whilst snowballing recklessly was easy and keeping yourself present and alive at fights was less rewarded. Tenacious, and careful players just needed to suck lemons seeing their allies die over and over. Now playing the last few days, I feel the talent of keeping yourself alive is not only has the merits to dish out the pain (dark harvest resets), but also denies enemy income more heavily than ever. Maybe the "CS factor" needs to be toned down but still i quite like the direction this is going.

But again, killing that stray "I refuse group I CS!!!111" ADC is now way more fun than ever. Those sort of unskilled players that do not ward or listen to pings are just worth SO much cash now.

And another thing, I'm quite astounded how tanky the towers are early. I had a A-sol, lucian, brand on the enemy side bashing the tower and it still held more than I expected. It did not go down in one go! Yeah, I know they get some gold, but overextending is now another fun thing to punish this meta. I love it as a mid/jung player.

I don't particularly care for it. I'm not sure how granting bounties to people who are good at farming is somehow going to prevent snowballing, as you're basically giving people MORE access to shutdown gold that now isn't related to them previously being on killing sprees. Furthermore, the turrets feel just as fragile and paper thin as before. The only thing this armor adds is an artificial extension of the laning phase that doesn't really address how weak turrets are past laning. There are some good steps, but overall, I'm failing to see how these problems have been fixed.

From my point of view, wrenching kills out and living is now a valued talent, rather than "kamikaze that bounty and nuke it for a 1-1 trade". Another thing I noticed playing this game, is people who "farm safely" hardly do so. Most of the time, they either do not group, or overextend. And punishing that playstyle even by killing said player wasn't quite enough the reward. Such as tryndamere splits.

I agree that I want towers midgame be more tanky. But it is a achievement. There are no 3 people storming my mid tower so early.

Towers are not tanky, if you have something like Ziggs or Ad+as champs bashing them. I lost a tower as GP early - getting ganked by Yi and the enemy toplaner. In another game I was Ziggs support + Lucian adc. We almost took it pre-6 after stomping the enemy bot lane.

I'm liking it so far.

I wasn't a fan of Season 8's preseason. There was a **LOT ** of change. Too much for the average player to grasp and it altered a lot of thinking for a lot of buildings. You saw things like Camille and Riven taking arcane comet. Mages opting out for Summoner Aery over Arcane Comet. ADCs forever ONLY taking Fleet Footwork while ones who generally used Fervor of Battle where lost and shoved into garbage tiers.

It also didn't help that each class got a major tweak this year it seems. Mage itemization changed. Marksmen itemization changed. Tanks and Fighters getting new runes to play around with.

This preseason, there were really only the changes to runes and 2 updates to gameplay, the bounties and turret plating.

So far so good I'd say.
