Yasou is only one of ~8 melee champions in the game without +1.25 MR per level, and 4 of those turn into ranged champions in Kayle, Jayce, Elise, and Nidalee.

Average AD @18 is ~110, Kat has ~113. Average HP @18 is ~1950, Kat has 1921.
It's worth noting Kat is a melee champion, and melee champions tend to have slightly above-average stats while ranged champions have slightly below-average stats, leading to most melees being ~10% stronger stat-wise. Outside of range, where ranged champions tend to have ~340% more power there.
Also - older champions tend to have near-identical base stats, to the point you can basically assume there identical for the purposes of mental calculations. Newer champions like Yasou, Gnar, and Jinx are fairly unique in that Riot actually has moved around there base stats enough for them to be an actual factor in how their kit opperates.
TLDR: Yasou's the wierd one in your comparision, Kat's the normal one. Not the other way around.
