Venting: You can never trust cheese
Plain fact. Just had a game where I played jg
against a jg
...alongside a toplane
. Needless to say, whatever the Vayne hoped to do, she was denied a chance to snowball because she gave not one...not two...but three kills onto the Twitch before 4 minutes. Top lane was essentially dead and the Twitch got the boost he needed. The Vayne also proceeded to feed onto her
opponent...about 5 more times. Seriously, she was struggling to make do with two
while Kennen completed a
. Honestly, the only time I did gank for her, I secured the kill because I did not trust her potential; she was way behind and the enemy team had
and
(combined with a fed Twitch and Kennen). She would end the game with only two kills (likely gained during the few teamfights she joined) and lots of splitpushing, and 17 deaths to show for it.
Still, just because the Twitch's cheese succeeded early, didn't mean he was excused either. Especially since he was my second kill and I secured a 700 gold bounty on him. Sure I died to his allied Zyra, but I got more value from his death than Zyra did from me. Then I started ganking midlane, booping Zyra (and often visiting Twitch) where I gave the allied
several kills and a few assists. Heck, I even stole an infernal drake from a five-man attempt (no smite, just an E) and then destroy the Twitch. Didn't even die as the teamfight ensued. Point is, despite a strong early game, I could shut down the Twitch (and Zyra and Jinx) with a simple combo of EQR, and soon EQ-aa before they could do anything.
Combined with a fed Xerath, we managed to eke out a win. It was close since we largely fought 4v5 with the Vayne splitpushing to minimal effect and they were on our nexus (all towers in mid gone nexus very vulnerable). But yeah, it solidified my distrust for cheese tactics like Marksman tops and Twitch jungle; they're either painfully annoying or outright useless.
