Unfortunately now he's pretty much one of the worst assassins in the game.
He's a terrible champion.
He's AD which means picking him messes up your team comp very often.
makes him useless.
He can be countered by freaking Supports.
He scales very very poorly into the late game because he's designed for 1 vs 1 and has trouble getting multi kills once every one gets a full build (requiring highly unreliable, and repeated perfect plays from the Zed).
He's traditionally been a strong laner but that has completely gutted with his horrible W cooldowns.
Also, you need to keep landing Double Shurikens in order to deal acceptable damage (which is hell hard for fairly low reward). Even at 3 items, the damage from a single Shuriken on a squishy is laughably bad.
