Allow us to surrender at 15

Considering how fast these games are, whether you stomp or get stomped as early as 10 minutes, allow us to surrender at 15.

If not, tell me why, Riot.

Edit 1: So I have been playing more games and it seems to me like those games that lasts longer than 25 minutes have either team trying to outstomp the other team in order to close the game. One team fight, red side comes out the winner. The next teamfight, blue side comes out the winner. Whoever can smartly benefit from winning the sometimes-onesided teamfights will most likely win.

Otherwise, the game is mostly one-sided when one side snowballs like Gragas on crack rolling down a snowy hill. It's not a struggle between two similar powers for the majority of the time. It's a struggle between the higher and lower powers.

Edit 2: Things have gotten a little bit better since my last edit. However, I would still like the idea of surrendering at 15 when the Rift is filled with my team's graves and gold on my enemys' side. Mostly, this would be about those types of games where it is clearly obvious that your team is being stomped into the dirt. Other factors may also apply.

But then Surrender at 20 would have to change their name. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

Niaphim11/14/2015, 6:36:44 PM27 votes

More like at 10 minutes in the current state.

TedBearSurvival11/14/2015, 5:00:23 PM18 votes

I think that you should be able to surrender when your team has someone that afked.

Kappiste11/14/2015, 5:37:22 PM15 votes

Riot probably thinks that the game is in "a healthy spot" right now.

Agreed. If you're going to continue to let us get shafted after the enemy team gets 1-2 kills and snowball down Mt Everfed, please let us surrender at 15 and save time.

ThePartyLeader11/15/2015, 2:02:22 AM7 votes

Why not surrender at 2 minutes. If you miss that first cs might as well quit.

Flounderboi11/14/2015, 8:25:12 PM7 votes

I like your forward thinking. Would totally want you on my team. :^)

Smithney11/14/2015, 8:45:44 PM6 votes

Better, patch the game so that surrender@15 isn't necessary.

Sedonis11/15/2015, 8:51:17 PM6 votes

I agree with this statement. I had 2 games today. Both of which had people that were legendary by 10 minutes in... At least. My first game today was 4 kills to 26 at 15 minutes and the other was 4 kills to 30 at the end of the game. I won my first game and lost the second. I gotta say, whatever riot is trying to do, league is just not the same anymore and I am about ready to just leave league all together. I'm not enjoying playing against broken champs every game and I really don't like how riot hasn't done anything to listen to the community. They just sit in their little land of Rito and throw out broken stuff and expect the whole community to like it. But you know

#LC$BigPlay$ .... Kappa

Edit: If you look at my match history you will notice that NONE of my games were even close. I either fed and everyone else fed, or I ended up super fed and one shot everyone. There is no middle ground.

BasedJarvan42011/14/2015, 7:53:14 PM5 votes

How about 10 or even 5? If the entire team doesn't want to play the match, then they should be allowed to end it.

I don't understand all these "games are so short now" posts. My game lengths haven't changed in the least bit.

ZzEslIolZQ11/15/2015, 7:18:33 AM3 votes

Why not just allow us to surrender at 5. First blood to mid automatically ends up 5 levels higher auto win.

Shonjl11/14/2015, 9:39:27 PM2 votes

I have to really ask if this is as bad as people are making it?

I have played maybe 10 games so far after taking a break from league for 2 weeks, to come back to this marksman/crit meta, and most games I see are still 30-50 minutes still. The only thing I seen that is really new is Graves is always gettign fed.

People overexaggerate

for realz this is a good idea as you keep making items cheeper to make games faster

Wait your games are lasting 15 minutes? What's your secret?

SoMNia11/14/2015, 8:52:33 PM2 votes

It's preseason. They're still deciding how to balance all the new changes. When next season is here, if the game's pacing is still as fast, then worry about the minimum surrender time.

Catloaf11/14/2015, 9:24:58 PM2 votes

The game is in a healthy spot. Most players just dont know how to comeback or play when losing.

Tendo J11/14/2015, 10:12:43 PM2 votes

The big changes in mesteries make this game more kiddy. Now, Support gains much limited or lower gold income and experience. Also, the mesteries tend to make AD champions stronger than another role. There is no hope for an support with little damage and little army items due to the even lower gold income and experience to counter alone when he's adc being killled.[zombie-brand-clap]

Battlecast Sona11/15/2015, 2:54:29 AM2 votes

The game is not over at 15 minutes.

My belief at the moment (and I've had this tested a few times, even on the new Preseason) is that unless the enemy team has grouped and taken at least 1 inhib turret, the game is not over yet (and even then, that's not a definitive victory).

The main issue (in my games) has been people's PERCEPTION of what's going on more than anything else.

Just so you know, there are tons of good ways to come back now! With death bounties giving global gold, even just executing a good gank on a high profile target can get you a good amount of global gold. Also, due to EXP changes, I've had some games where I've gained 2 levels in a single teamfight (they increased Giant Slayer EXP for higher level targets but reduced the EXP gained for lower level targets).

So say what you will about snowballing, but people just need to figure out the new levers for coming back or closing out a game (Rift Herald, new gold bounty/giant slayer exp, etc) and I think game length will ease back up. Basically every single new season has had games ending shorter for the first couple of weeks due to people's perceived strength of new champs/items/masteries/etc.

Why not surrender at 5 min? I can usually tell by min 5 if we're going to win or lose.

Sukishoo11/15/2015, 5:27:53 AM1 votes

15? Oh hell no. Let us do it at 1 minute or ELSE~! [slayer-jinx-wink]

Would've been helpful in my last game as Ahri where the only thing I heard all game was: A summoner has disconnected A summoner has reconnected A summoner has- Reconn- A summoner has disconnected A summoner has reconnected. Graves: FINALLY

Zelphon11/15/2015, 6:01:32 PM1 votes

I don't think the time in which you need to wait for the ability to surrender should change so much as I think the way the voting system works should be changed.

I personally believe the majority should be able to decide if surrender happens so that in the case where 3 people say yes and 2 say no, the surrender goes through.

kaltenashes11/14/2015, 9:34:26 PM1 votes

i'm not against it, but i think that riot released this patch the way they did (oh c'mon why did you change ashe's passive and prevent her from abusing the crit too?) because they didnt get enough data in the pbe or something like that

i do hate that all games i'm playing, if my team is winning, we win and vice-versa, but i hate more when teammates believe they can comeback and refuse to surrender... i'm yet to experience a game when a team comebacks in this patch

Lintu Puck11/16/2015, 4:17:59 AM1 votes

or....you know....try a bit harder and don't rage quit. after just a few kills. I've had matches where my team has turned things around. While it might be hard to tough it out for 10 minutes, those 10 minutes might give you a chance to turn things around. Is it hard. Yes. Is it impossible? Nope.
