Researching why we are following the meta, feedback appreciated

I'm doing a small research project and I'm curious to see if players have follow the strategies of pro players or the meta to lead their team to victory?

If you want to participate, answer these 3 questions:

  1. Do you follow the pro games?
  2. Do you adopt their strategies? (Item choices, hero choices, or team comp?)
  3. Has it helped you to achieve more victories?

people follow the meta because it's easy to set up in soloQ and it's the most efficient way to distribute gold and xp across the team.

  2. Some, but any strategy that requires coordination with your team is off the table. (Some people don't get that certain things are played because there is coordination within a team not because it is good on its own)

  1. Not really, sometimes I just skim through highlights if the champions being played interest me
  2. I don't adapt items and builds but rather macro game like pressuring objectives, prioritizing farm over kills and generally pushing our advantage
  3. Polishing your decision making and macro game generally increases your chance of victory more than simply adapting CURRENT meta champions and team comps. If you know HOW to win you can apply it to every single instance of league without having to be up to date with the pro scene

1: yes i like the pro games (love seeing this game played at the higher level of complexity over the im gonna 1 vs 1 you and im better )

2: not exactly cuz what they do in coordinated play is a lot different then what is played for us scrubs

3: no, but if the game evolved to that it would be a better game and then the game would be played at its purest form
