Can Supports Get Some Help?

When you can go 2/5/17 in a game where you're forced to play with a creature who manages to die as Ashe 14 times, or simply any other ratio of your deaths to supports is or is greater than 1:3, I feel that it should not be out of the realm of possibilities that a support character should not have their elo lowered. Now, I am not now, nor will I ever advocate for elo to rise when one is forced to play with a losing team, but, it is clear that RIOT wants to incentivize people to play support by decreasing your time in que if you pick it as one of your two options. So, I don't think it should be out of the realm of possibilities that someone should not be penalized for having the audacity to play a moderately competent support to not have to worry about losing rank when they do their job with some level of excellence with a team that feeds, refuses to group so your incapable of giving out support, or any other number of numbskullery actions that cost a support player their score. Yes, this is a touch ranty, but it really does irk me how bothersome it is to try and climb the ladder as a support main. If they didn't want it to happen, then why would they push it into the game to begin with, why not make it 4v4 instead, you dig?

Supports having shorter que times isn't due to their incentives; it's due to it being the only position nobody ques up for, which leads to whoever selects it being the first to be fit into a team since there's already excess players in other roles. An incentive to play support would be something like getting double the IP from a game. Just thought I'd clarify the previous issue.

That doesn't quite square up. See, there would be no incentive to play it if all slots got you to que at an equal time, but as it stands, LOL lets you know that you can get to game a little quicker by choosing it, and what's more you will have a slower time getting to play if you choose mid. Not necessarily a big incentive, but it is an incentive all the same.

You say that yet the game was more popular before the que change to how it is now. And frankly, I'd rather wait 5 minutes to play a position I want, than wait 1 minute and get forced into one I don't want.

So...You don't want to be penalized when your doing good and lose? Neither does ADC. Neither does APC/Asn. Neither does top lane. Neither does JG. Perhaps we should just all not be penalized if team is doing bad when we're doing good.

Team game dude, everyone gets penalized. It's not because you aren't considered a carry you shouldn't be penalized. I've seen my fair share of supports carry games anyways. If you're tired of it get out of support and become a carry or play a support that can carry.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I quite like the idea of any solo-que players not being penalized for an outstanding kill to death or death to support kill ratio. Yes it's a team game, but not all players are equal, and I would certainly like to see players much better than myself not having to have garbage scores from dealing with the likes of me, let alone others who are worse.
